AVA POV
"Avaa, hurry up, we're going to be late for the wedding!" Liv called from downstairs. "Coming!" I said, quickly putting on my last earring and rushing downstairs to stand in front of her. "How do I look?" I asked, twirling in front of her, my emerald green gown fitting snugly and stopping just at my ankles.
"You look breathtaking, amazing, beautiful, sexy, and I just want to take you out of that dress," Liv said, her eyes sparkling with admiration.
"Dammit, Liv, we have a wedding to attend! Specifically, your best friend's and my brother's. We can't be late because I'm the best man and you're the bridesmaid," I said, gently lifting her hand to help her with the flower band on her wrist.
"Come on, let's go. If anyone asks why are we late, I'm blaming you," I joked, trying to lighten the mood.
"Or you can say my wife was mesmerized by seeing me in this beautiful dress I'm wearing," Liv teased, pulling me closer and planting a soft kiss on my lips.
I pushed her playfully. "No, we really need to go now," I insisted, leading the way out the door, but not before stealing a glance at Liv, who stood there looking radiant.
"Stop staring at my ass and move yours, Woman," I said, pointing back at her, eliciting a laugh as she followed me, taking my hand.
It had been a blessed five years since we moved in together after that tragedy. We talked, we laughed, and we built a life together. I opened a café, which was thriving. Two years after moving in, I asked Liv to marry me, with her parents' blessings. There were moments when I wondered if Liv would agree to become a vampire or remain human. Either way, I would love her.
On the night of our wedding, she surprised me by asking me to turn her into a vampire, and I did so happily. Everyone was happy for us, even Mr. and Mrs. Miller, Liv's parents, who had initially hesitated.

The afterparty was in full swing, with everyone dancing. Liam was with his girlfriend Amy, who he had met two years ago. Theo and Andrea, the bride and groom, were radiant. Even my parents and Liv's parents were enjoying themselves, but Liv was nowhere to be found.
I scanned the room for her, but was interrupted by a young woman approaching me with a bright smile.
"Would you like to dance with me?" she asked, exuding confidence.
I admired her boldness, but my mind was preoccupied with finding Liv. Still, I didn't want to be rude, so I agreed.
"Of course, but just so you know, I'm happily married," I said, showing her my wedding ring. Her smile faltered slightly, but she nodded.
"I just wanted to dance with you to boost my confidence," she confessed as we made our way to the dance floor.
"Don't worry, it's just a friendly dance," she reassured, placing my hand on her waist as we swayed to the music.
"So, how does it feel dancing with me?" I asked, trying to make small talk.
"To be honest, I'm proud of myself for dancing with such a beautiful woman like you, and I'm not flirting," she replied, making me chuckle.
"Thank you, you're not too bad yourself. What's your name?" I inquired.
"Hannah. And yours?" she asked.
"Ava," I replied.
"Beautiful name for a woman like you," she complimented.
Before I could respond, I heard a throat clearing behind me. I turned to see Liv standing there, her expression unreadable.
"What's going on here?" she asked, her gaze shifting between me and Hannah.
"Just a friendly dance," I explained, trying to keep things light.
"With a stranger?" Liv's tone was sharp.
"No, she's Hannah," I said, but before I could continue, Hannah interjected.
"Is she your wife?" Hannah asked, looking at me.
I nodded. "Yes, she is."
"Damn, she's hot," Hannah remarked, catching me off guard.
"I agree with you, Hannah. She is hot," I said, shooting Liv a playful smirk.
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to dance with her. I wasn't flirting or trying to cause any trouble between you two. I think I should go. It was nice meeting you both," Hannah said, looking slightly embarrassed.
"You scared the poor girl," I teased Liv.
"I didn't, and you were dancing with her," Liv retorted.
"I just wanted to dance, and I couldn't find you anywhere. How is that my fault?" I pouted, knowing it would work on her.
"Will you do me the pleasure of dancing with me?" Liv asked, walking towards me.
Before I could respond, she wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me close, leaving no space between us. I reciprocated, wrapping my arms around her neck and pulling her down so our foreheads touched.
"I was just dancing with her because she told me she was nervous but proud of herself to come up and ask me. I did tell her that I was happily married to you. She didn't mind; it was just a friendly dance. And lastly, she found you hot," I explained, hoping to reassure Liv.
She smiled and cupped my cheeks, bringing our lips together in a sweet, soft kiss that conveyed all the words we didn't need to say out loud. I pulled back, whispering, "I love you."
"I love you too," Liv whispered back, and in that moment, surrounded by music and laughter, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together.
