it's Ghost's fault

Hornet groaned as she woke up, feeling like she'd just fallen down the City of tears' Elevator shaft. Her feet were lying in something wet, and there was a sound like waves crashing against a shore. She opened her eyes, and blinked at the unfamiliar landscape. "Okay, Never been here before. Am I even in Hallownest anymore?" She asked herself. Her eyes caught a glint of steel, and upon reaching towards it she noticed that her hand was much paler then it used to be, and it didn't look like it belonged to any bug she'd met before. Though her fingers were still thin, the Carapace that had been there was gone and replaced by pink flesh, covered by a Black material that felt like her dress yet left her fingers exposed. She grabbed the silver object to find it was her needle, and she attempted to push herself to her feet before falling onto her butt. She noticed that her legs were covered in the same material as her hands, and her feet were covered in a different Material that was rough, yet surprisingly comfortable. She patted her face, finding that it too had changed when her fingers caught an end to it. A slight tug revealed that she was wearing a mask, a mask that looked distinctly how her face had back in Hallownest. It was also perfectly molded to her face. She put it back on, then used her Needle to help her stand up and looked around. On her left was another being, standing at 6'5 ft tall. The figure was also quite Lanky, yet she knew those limbs were full of muscle. A tattered and Faded white cloak hung around his shoulders, and he was covered in a material that, upon her inspection, was made from the material her dress was, just coloured black instead of red. On his face sat a mask, like hers, depicting the face of the Hollow knight. On her right was another figure, shorter then her at 4'8 while she stood at 5'3. They were covered in a tattered Mothwing cloak that swallowed most of their body, the only bit not covered being the figure's feet. A further examination revealed the figure to be wearing a material just like Hollow was, except it clung to the figure's body and ended on their hips, only to then cover their entire legs. The material also covered their arms down from just below the shoulder. Their mask, unlike hers and Hollow's, was black, with four glowing eyes above where their eyes would be. The mask depicted the face of the little ghost, but with more Horns stretching out from the end of the mask. Another thing she noticed was that all three of them had white fuzz covering their heads, and an experimental tug on a strand of her own revealed to her that it was part of them. And that tugging on it hurt quite a bit. The little ghost's fuzz faded black at the end, unlike hers and hollow's.

It was shortly after she had begun checking Hollow over that she heard a groan, and she turned to see the little Ghost sit up. She watched as the Little Ghost checked itself over, then stood up and looked around. The Little Ghost's eyes landed on her, glowing a Luminous white like the other four on it's mask, then it surprised her. "Hornet, where are we?" They both blinked at that.
"Did you just talk?" She asked. Ghost nodded slowly. "I did. This is Amazing!" If Ghost actually said anything important, it was lost to the stream of excited Babbling being issued from the Vessel's mouth. Hollow stirred at that moment, leaping up and drawing their nail. Ghost drew their own, while she readied her needle incase it did come to blows. "Hollow knight, relax please." Hollow looked at her, then relaxed it's tense posture. Ghost lowered their nail as Hollow lowered theirs, and she breathed a sigh of relief that it hadn't come to blows. While she and Ghost could easily subdue the Hollow Knight without the black egg draining her, fighting each other wasn't something they needed right now.

It took some time, but they eventually settled enough that they could talk about what they should do next. Hollow, unlike Ghost, had not gained the ability to speak, with every attempt sounding like Hollow was sighing. At some point during the conversation, Ghost had decided that they were a girl, something spurred on due to the fact that both of them had a similar body type, with two bumps on their chests and wider hips. The only difference between them was that Ghost's were smaller then hers, likely due to her being older. If Hollow had preferred pronouns, They had no way of knowing since the bigger Vessel couldn't speak. They picked a Direction, then started walking.
