Chapter 14

"So what happens next?" He asked. "Alright well after getting to know Jess..."

A few days after texting Jess we wanted to hang out so I went over to her house. I knocked on the door, "Jess I'm here!" Instead of Jess opening the door Brennen opened it. "Eve hey." He said slicking his hair back and giving me a wink. I laughed, "Where's Jess?" Brennen let me in and I took a seat in the kitchen and Brennen walked into the fridge looking for something to drink, "thirsty?" "Sure. What do you have?" "Water, Coke, and juice." "I'll have water." Brennen handed me bottled water. "Thanks." We sat in a small silence. "So..." I said. "Where's Jess?" He let out a small giggle, "she isn't here." "What the hell she invited me here?" "No Eva I did." Did he really take Jess's phone and text me? "Jess actually invited you but I told her you'd meet her at the beach." "What! Brennen!" "Oh come on you know you secretly wanted to just hang out with me." He smirked nudged me with his elbow. Okay okay I have to admit I did kind of want to be alone with Brennen. "Brennen shut up and take me to where Jess is." I said grabbing my bag from the table. I got down from the stairs and walked towards the front door, "well come on!" I said. Brennen laughed and grabbed his keys, "wait why don't we just take my car?" Brennen came to his senses and we decided to take my car. There was a small silence in the car to break the silence I cleared my throat, "so are you going to tell me where to go?" He laughed, "Yeah sorry." He gave me the directions and I put them in the GPS. There was an awkward silence what am I supposed to talk about with him? It's Brennen Taylor. "So Eva," I took a quick glance at him, "yeah?" "How did others react at school about the relationship you and this Matt kid had?" "Mmm no..." "And why not?" "Well because I didn't want anyone to know what kind of person he was. He had a big reputation he had to keep up with. He wasn't an asshole all the time. I know he meant well." I smiled. Brennen put his hand on my thigh and was rubbing it up and down not in a sexual way but out of sympathy. "We're here." I said parking. "Where's Jess?" Brennen smiled and looked down, "at her friend's house." I gave Brennen a stern look and took the keys out of the car, "Brennen what the hell is going on?" Brennen smiled and helped me out of the car."Brennen what are you doing?" Brennen pulled my hand as he sprinted to the shore of the beach where I saw a blanket laid out on floor and some food sitting there away from the water so it wouldn't get wet. 'Brennen what is this?" "Sit." Brennen said as sitting down. I took a seat looking around wondering if anything else will happen. "Eva, I just wanted to show you how you should be treated. From everything I've heard and you told me I feel like you never were treated like the beautiful soul you are." I blushed. "Brennen this amazing, what you did for me. But you didn't have to." Brennen smiled and held my hand, "I know I didn't have to. I wanted to. I wanted you to know you're loved Matt should've never hit you or abused you like that. Watch when I see him I'll kick his ass."I laughed and took a bite of the sandwich Brennen obviously bought. After talking an eating for an hour or so we decided to go back to Brennens place.

"So did you have fun today?" Brennen asked while unlocking the door."I had fun today. I could get used to this kind of dates." I said smiling. After Brennen unlocking the door we walked in and we went up into his room and just talked about everything. You would think we would get it on but no Brennen is actually taking things slow which good. It's not like those other stories I read where they instantly fall in love. I felt my phone vibrate and it showed a text from Sabrina,

S: "So I see you're hanging out with Brennen (;"

E: "Yeah how do you know?!"

S: "Eve I don't live under a rock, it's all over twitter!"

E: "What?!"

S: "Yeah you're like being @'d and shit!"

E: "Wait are you on my account? Which account?"

S: "Well your fan account duh."

E: "Wtf how did people get the fan account?"

S: "That I don't know but I'll log out and give you and Brennen some alone time (;"

With that I ended the conversation. I logged in onto twitter to see what was happening. I saw a few dm's from people who followed me, new followers, and some people saying I'm lucky and all that jazz. "Brennen do you see what is going on twitter?" Brennen got up off of his bed to check his phone which was in his back pocket of his jeans. "Well damn don't we look good?" He laughed, "Brennen what if Matt see's? Oh my god what's going to happen?" I was pacing back and forth in Brennens room. "I think I'm going to home." I said running towards the door. Brennen grabbed my wrist and pulled me close, "Eve wait. Who cares if he see's? What's he going to do? We live miles and miles away from him. Nothing will happen." While he said my eyes were shut tight not wanting to know what was going to happen next. "Brennen I have to go." I pulled my wrist out of his grip and ran out the door to my car. I didn't drive home instead I just kept driving straight not knowing where I wanted to go. Soon I ended up in the middle of nowhere. "I called my mom and told her I'll be sleeping at Brennen's house but of course Jessica will be there so there will be no problem with her freaking out or anything. Soon I was calmed enough to decide to go eat something then head back to Brennens house.

E: "Hey Brennen I'm coming back"

B: "What? Where did you even go?"

E: "Idek I'm in the middle of nowhere rn."

B: "Alright are you staying the night?"

E: "Can I stay with Jess?"

B: "She isn't here lol she really is at her friends rn"

E: "Lol omg okay well where would I sleep?"

B: "In my bed duh"

E: "Where are you going to sleep then?"

B: "With you duh.. C'mon Eve get with the program!"

E: "Lol omg whatevs I'll be there in an hour or so"

After about 1 hour of driving I finally arrived I knocked on the door and waited patiently for someone to open the door. "Come in! Come in!" Brennen said grabbing me inside. He offered me something to drink and something to eat but kindly said no to both offers. You're probably thinking "Eva that's food you just turned down!" I didn't just turn down food I turned down Brennen Taylor's food I know I know it's crazy but next time. When we got up to the second floor we walked into Brennens room, I laid down on Brennens bed and looked up at the ceiling, turned to face Brennen and laughed "I guess if it's okay with you?" He walked over to my face and kissed my lips and said, "Of course it's okay." Then winked and walked over to his drawer. What the fuck just happened? I saw Brennen struggling to find a shirt and started laughing. "So Eve I don't have any shirts so here's this one." Brennen pulled his shirt from the back over his neck, "Uh Brennen what are you doing?" I said with a small smirk on my face. Brennen removed his shirt fully and threw it at my face while laughing I took the shirt off from my face and saw him doing a little dance over my way, "Brennen what are you doing?" I said giggling. Brennen soon got closer and closer he started to hover over me face-to-face we were starring into each other's eyes. His lips slowly started touching mine. I turned my face to stop kissing and softly pushed him away, "Brennen I can't right now. It'-""It's too soon. I get it its okay." Brennen got off and started walking to drawer and he found a shirt to put on, I walked up to him to face him, "Brennen, I'm sorry it's just that I can't. It's hard to start liking someone when you just broke up with an abusive boyfriend. He's burned into my mind it's just really hard." "Eva I understand, you still have feelings for a guy who fucking hit you it makes total sense don't sweat over it." I scoffed, "Brennen I didn't say I still had feelings for him. Do you have to be a little bitch about everything?" Brennen slammed his hands onto his drawer and faced me, "Damn it Eva just drop it! I'm not being a little fucking bitch I told you I wasn't going to hurt, I told you I would make sure nothing would happen to you but obviously you have a problem realizing that." "You know what yeah maybe I do still like him, maybe I miss the fact that he hit me, oh maybe I missed the best moments when he made me lie to people and say I loved him and the best relationship ever! Yeah Brennen I miss those times they were the best moments ever. Stop being a dick you don't know shit about it." I picked up my bag and started walking out, "I'm keeping your shirt." I said walking out without even turning around. "Eve where are you going!?" "No Brennen call me when you stopped being a dick head." I left the house and got in my car. Great I just ruined a good friendship slash relationship with Brennen Taylor whatever I'm going home.
