The small town of Ora was all a buzz. Like a million bees, crawling, shoving past one another to see the wonder. The wonder in question; a witch.
"Before you today, in front of God and all his children, will we free the world of a sinner!" bellowed the Priest, Father John .The crowd erupted even more. Screams echoed off of the stone walls of town square. Mercy thought she was going to be sick, from all the noise and the simple fact that the Witch in question was her grandmother. "Willow Wonder, having been found guilty of witchcraft, sorcery, promiscuity, divination, spell work and potions, you stand condemned to be burned alive. Does the condemned woman have any last words before the fire is lit?" a crude sly smile formed on Father John face. Mercy could kill him right now, she imagines it in her head. Looking down at her little sister Esme, she knew that road couldn't be taken. "Burn. In. Hell" Willow spat at Father John, landing on his gown. Mercy always adored her grandmother, but in this moment, in her last final minutes, she adored her even more.
Mercy bent down to look at Esme, who was far more focused on getting the cat in the alley to head her way. She spun her little sister around to face her, being playful Esme spun an extra circle and laughed. Mercy's lips tugged slightly into a smile, even within chaos her sister could make her smile. "Mimi let's go camping? How's that sound?". Esme's smile lit up even more, "uh DUH! Let's go!". The 9-year-old led the beginning of the journey, hopping and skipping over small puddles. Mercy turned away from the forest to town square where people piled over one another. With blood curdling screams quickly followed by cheers of glory being let out into the universe, Mercy spun back West, picking up the pace to catch up with Esme. Leaving behind the only town she's ever known in 21 years of life.
