[Nagisa's P.O.V.]
"Sorry, Sugino-kun. I'll see you later! I have something to take care of!" More like someone. I've been worried about him for a while. Karma usually skips a few classes here & there, but never missed consecutive, full days. And when he did come, he just sat in the back with his head down, ignoring everyone. He once greeted me as I came into class... But that was it. He wasn't here today. His grades must be skydiving... Not good. So I finally decided to go see him.
~
I rang his doorbell, but no answer. The light was on in his room, but no vehicles were parked out front. "I... I'm coming in!" I yelled, opening the door. Karma & I were close enough now that I could just do that... But I haven't visited in a while. As I stepped in, I saw a huge mess. Broken bottles & plates, torn down drapes, & many other disasterous things. 'What the hell happened here?' I thought to myself. I made my way over to the staircase & carefully ascended... 'Why were there forks with missing points?' I'm just really confused right now. I knocked on Karma's door, but since it wasn't closed all the way, it creaked open. I saw the redhead laying on his bed, the back of his wrist against his forehead. He had a dazed expression on his face, turning his head to face me. "Ehh? Nagisa-kun, what are you doing here?" He sat up, golden eyes staring straight at me. He didn't look mean or anything, just lazily surprised. Is that even a thing? Still, I tore my gaze away from him & looked around at his room... It was just about as trashed as the rest of the place. Over on his desk I saw a lighter, a bottle of some kind of medication... "I was worried about you. Now... What are those for?" I walked closer before accidentally kicking something, it skittering across the floor. 'A knife?'
"Karma-kun, why do you have a knife in your room? That's dangerous!" The redhead just rolled over, paying no attention to me. He was curled up like he was in some kind of pain. I slowly started to piece the things together... 'School absences, messy house... Medication that could easily be overdosed on... A lighter & a knife...' "Karma-kun, you're not--?" Karma groaned. "D-don't go jumping to conclusions." He closed his eyes tightly. I walked back over & sat on Karma's bed, beside him. I carefully rolled him to face me, gently rolling up his sleeves to reveal numerous scars. 'I wouldn't want to go to school with marks like those either.' I shook the redhead gently. "Karma, look at me..." At this point, I was done with the honorifics... This was serious. With a heaved sigh, Karma opened his eyes to stare at me. Only one word came could escape from my lips. "Why?" My voice trembled. 'Did it really hurt that much to see him like this?' The redhead remained silent before sitting up & speaking. "What's the point? Did you see my house? Terrible things have gone on & I just have to keep living through them redundantly all alone. I just..." He sounded like he would choke on the simplicity of air. "...I just can't--" His eyes began to water. 'Oh my gosh... Is Karma actually crying?' Before he could speak again, I impulsively pulled him in for an embrace. "Karma, you dummy! You really are clueless if you think you have to go through this alone! You have a whole class to help you through this. And even if the whole world were to turn against you, I'll stay by your side! I will. Me. Forever." I hugged him closer. "Karma, you probably have at least enough scars to give one to everyone in class... And that's alot. All of Class 3-E is happy that you joined us & we'd miss you if you suddenly... Disappeared." I don't know why but I held his arm up & kissed every scar he had, saying a classmate's name for each one. "This one's from Kaede, Kanzaki, Yada..." I went all the way up both arms until I ran out of scars. Only one classmate's name was left... "And this one is... from me." As if his face wasn't already red enough, it just heated up even more as I softly pressed my lips against his. 'I've wanted this for so long... Is this wrong?' Apparently not in Karma's mind... Because with tears flowing down his face, the redhead kissed me back. I wrapped one arm around his waist, pulling him down onto the bed with me. After a few moments he pulled away, leaning over me. "N- Nagisa... Do you really~?" I just smiled up at Karma. "Of course I do, baka." I leaned up a bit to nuzzle just beneath his chin. "Everything is going to be okay now... Alright?" Karma nodded slowly before I placed another kiss on his lips. 'Everything would be okay now.' That was my promise.~
Okay, so maybe you don't need to kiss their scars or cry with them... But you should do something. You can be the the one who knows How To Save A Life.
Don't let the one(s) you love disappear. Help them!
