"This is it. This is where I'll die. I'm going to die here. Tell my mom and dad that I love them," I said as the nurse entered my hospital room.

"Don't be dramatic," he said, smiling and shaking his head. "We just have to finish up some paperwork, and you'll be all set to go. Just hang tight for another minute."

I sighed and reached up to my forehead to feel where the stitches were, but the nurse stopped me before I could. "And don't touch them. You'll get an infection."

He left the room, and I reached in my bag to get my phone. I sent my mom a text to let her know that I was about to leave, and not too much later, the nurse came back in and told me I was good to go. I thanked him before heading out to the lobby.

I dug in my bag for my keys as I walked briskly towards the exit. Maybe if I made good time then I'd be able to get all my work done that I missed.

My thoughts were interrupted when I ran into someone and dropped my bag.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention. Let me help you with that."

I looked over to see a man with crutches trying to get down on the ground.

"Oh my god, don't even worry about that. It was my fault. I can get it," I said as I gathered everything up and put it back in my bag.

"I'm sorry. My name's Matthew. Are you okay?" He said after we stood back up.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine. Thank you. My name's Ell. What happened to your leg?" I said, gesturing to the crutches.

"Oh, I hurt myself while dancing," he said, laughing. "What about you?"

"Same. I was dancing in my bathroom and I slipped and hit my head on the sink," I said, reaching up and running my fingers over the bandage.

"How would you like to get a coffee with me sometime? To make up for me being a klutz?"

"That sounds great. Here, put your number in my phone," I said, getting my phone out of my bag and giving it to him.

"Okay, here you go," he said, handing it back to me. "I'll call you tonight, and we'll make plans. It was very nice to meet you."

"You too. I'll talk to you later. Take care of that leg," I said as we made our way outside.

"And you take care of that head. Make sure it doesn't get infected."

"I will. See you later," I said, smiling at him as I got into my car.

As I drove away, I couldn't stop smiling. At least something good came out of being a klutz.

I hope you liked it! There will be more coming soon.
