It was late.

Very late.

In Gotham.... at night.

No one in Gotham would be considered sane if they ever went out at this time of day. Or night.

It is 2 in the morning, and here I am taking a nice stroll to myself in the streets of an Arkham-ridden city.

How so calm and pretty Gotham.

Gotham, the safest place on Earth... for criminals to operate, that is.

With a sardonic smile, I plugged in my earphones, the music a shield against the unnerving silence. Strange, I thought, the city felt eerily quiet tonight.

That blissful silence shattered with the jarring explosion of breaking glass, followed by the angry wail of police sirens cutting through the night.

"Spoke too soon," I muttered, a sigh escaping my lips.

Apparently, even Gotham had its occasional lull. A frustrated tut escaped me as I changed direction. "Looks like I overstayed my welcome. Don't want the GCPD mistaking me for a damsel in distress."

Turning a corner into a deserted street, only the occasional car breaking the monotony, I smirked, letting the music fade. "Don't play coy," I said, not bothering to turn around. "I know you've been following me."

A figure materialized from a rooftop above, landing effortlessly behind me. A slow smile spread across my face as I turned around.

"Hello Robin."
