"Are you sure you're up for this?" Sirius spoke, breaking the thick silence built upon the two best friends as he looked over at James who had been worryingly quiet as they drove over to a certain place in London.

The Greengrass manor to be exact.

"I have to know pads." James sighed as he parked over in some random street, he had learnt how to drive when he was twenty four, it was a couple years after the attack on his family and it was the thing that got him moving and his usual self again instead of some mindless husband and father.

"I know it's just.." Sirius paused as he looked at his friend a moment longer before over at the manor that was just able to be seen at the end of the street due to his animagus perks, "I mean this is serious. You could have another kid and with someone like this family especially—"

"You don't think I know that mate?" James interrupted him, his patience getting the better of him as he finally turned over to his brother, "Because I do. Trust me I do." He calmed down a little as he slumped down in the drivers seat, the back of his head on the headrest, "I just— I need to know. Before this bloody eats me alive, okay?"

"Okay." Sirius nodded, feeling rather guilty for pushing his best friend to such a stressed state since he was already in his head enough. He would stay with James if he wanted this, of course he would, the other boy was his best friend, his brother, he would go to the end of the world for James.

"Okay." James let out a sigh as he let his eyes close shut for a moment, running a hand through his ruffled hair to catch his breath.

"You ready?"

"Yeah, yeah I am." He gulped, his eyes fluttering open as he sat up straight, reaching down and unbuckling his belt as Sirius did the same for himself.

"Alright well let's go, anyway, think of the bright side, if you're right then you have a daughter just like you've always wanted!" Sirius suggested as he slammed the door shut after getting out of the car, sending his friend a grin as James locks the car with his car keys before pocketing them.

James let out a breathless chuckle as they walk side by side down to the Greengrass manor, glad Sirius was with him with his witty self, he didn't know what he would've done if he didn't have Sirius by his side.

"You know I'm rightttt." Sirius sung in a playful sing song voice, bumping his shoulder against James's who finally let his lips tug up into an actual expression of amusement.

"Of course I do."

"Great, now stop being such a debby downer." Sirius jokingly scolded him as he swung his right arm around James's shoulder.

"Oh hush, come on we're here now." James sent his friend a smile before walking past the Greengrass manor gate, walking over to the door.

Before they knocked, they took in the sight of the building, James especially. Sirius was used to such places due to his childhood, of course James lived in a larger manor himself, but his was filled with love and care. This place was just depressing honestly and the fact that his potential daughter had been grown up here sent a wave of anger through his body.
