Akane was sitting in front of a bowl of blood, water dripping from her hair from the shower she had taken a few minutes ago. She concentrates and the blood in the bowl flows in the air, with a twist of her wrist the blood changes to form a dagger, she flicks her wrist again and the blood changes shape to form several small throw daggers.

Klaus had wanted to talk about his plan with Akane, but he ended up being mesmerized by her powers.

"I didn't know you could-" Before Klaus could even complete his sentence, one of the throw daggers came rushing towards his way, when Akane looked towards him.

Klaus reacted quickly, grabbing the dagger before it could harm him. However, as soon as he caught the blood weapon, it seemed to magically seep into his body. Akane observed this and quickly dropped the blood daggers, which had turned back into liquid, into a bowl. She rushed over to Klaus, who was still standing at the door, staring at his hand in confusion as he tried to comprehend what had just happened.

"You have my blood in your system, you have gained temporary immunity from my powers," Akane explains to Klaus before he can even ask what happened.

"Every day, I seem to discover something new about you," Klaus said with a smirk.

Akane smiles at him, Klaus saunters into the room and looks around, the room is very much bare with just the necessities. Akane sits on the bed her feet dangling off the edge, her bare thighs were proving to be a distraction towards Klaus.

"Are you alright?" Klaus voices the question, which has been on his mind. Akane is close to Marcel, Rebekah, and even Hayley and she is going against the people she sees and friends and family; just because she promised him.

"Truthfully, I know what you are doing is to get your daughter back. But it does make me feel a little guilty and I also know you are not going to kill Marcel," she confesses

Klaus sat beside Akane on the bed, humming as he noticed her dripping wet hair.

"Won't you catch a cold?" he asks her.

Akane shakes her head, "No, I don't get sick, not at least physically."

"You have many abilities that are familiar to those of vampires," Klaus said with a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"What can I say, I am full of surprises," she says with a smile

Klaus chuckled in response. He found himself observing Akane frequently whenever they were together. She seemed lost in thought, and Klaus noticed a hint of sadness in her eyes. He reached towards her face and turned it to face his. Klaus didn't realize when he had moved closer to her, nor did he notice when he picked her up by the waist and made her sit on his lap. Her knees were resting by his hips, with just a sliver of space separating them. Her ears were tinted red, and the blush traveled down her neck.

Klaus and Akane were aware of their feelings for each other, but they both struggled to confront them. For Klaus, it was denial. They stood still, without exchanging any words, while their minds were occupied with countless questions, especially why Klaus's body seemed to move on autopilot whenever Akane was around. Akane was taken aback and found it hard to focus on anything else, particularly when Klaus touched her. She attributed it to her being touch-starved.

Klaus held her waist when Akane leaned on him, resting her head on his shoulder. It felt pleasant, as it had been a few years since she had allowed someone to get so close to her after him, other than an occasional hug.

Klaus and Akane were similar in many ways. Maybe that's why they understood each other when no one did.
