Just like every Sunday morning, I woke up at 6:00 AM to the sound of my alarm going off. I rolled out of bed walking over to my mirror. God, I looked horrible. My makeup was smeared, my hair was crazy and I had dark bags under my eyes. I let out a large sigh and made my way to my bathroom. Taking my clothes off to take a quick shower and make my way back to my room. Throwing on my favorite bra and underwear, I make my way over to my mirror. Due to the fact that mom is always working and dad is never home, I do my own laundry. Sadly, I haven't got to it lately, so I don't have a huge variety of clothes to choose from. Standing there for a few, I slip on a pair of denim skinny jeans and a black tank top with a denim jacket and pink and black scarf. Opening up the bedroom door to my room, I hear my mom yelling at my dad.

"Are you kidding me, Lucas?" she screams, throwing his phone at him.

"What am I kidding you about, Rebecca?" he says in his sarcastic tone, smirking a bit.

"Don't play stupid with me, Lucas. You've been cheating on me for the past 3 1/2 months and I'm done with it!" she says as I make my way into the kitchen looking at the tears streaming down her face.

"Mo... Mom." I stutter out as I start to feel the salty taste of my tears. "What do you mean he has been cheating?"

"Nothing sweetheart, don't worry about it." she says, walking over kissing my forehead and handing me one hundred dollars. "Here beautiful, go to breakfast with Nikki and then go hang out at the mall with her or something."

"I love you mom, I'll text you later." I say, giving her a kiss on the cheek leaving before you can reply.

"I love you, Jordan." Dad yells as I grab my keys and make my way out to my car.

My mom spoils me a little to much, but I don't mind. I unlock my car and get in, starting it up and making my way about three miles down the road. Stopping on the side of the road, I put on some makeup and pull out my phone. Scrolling through all my notifications I've got since last night, a text pops up from mom.

"Hey baby girl, can you do me a favor?"

"Sure mom, what is it?"

"See if Nikki will let you stay with her, your dad and I are having problems and I don't want you here for it."

"Okay mom, I'll talk to her. I love you and I'm here if you need me."

"I love you too Jordan."

After talking to mom I drive the 30 minutes down the road to Nikki's house. I sit there for a few and then beep there horn, knowing she'll look out the window. As she does, she comes down the steps of her apartment, yes her own. I step out of the car, closing the door behind me.

"Hey baby, I missed you!" Nikki says, running over to me embracing me in her warmth.

Oh, I think I forgot to mention.. Nikki isn't my friend. She's my girlfriend. My parents just don't know yet, so don't tell them.

"I missed you too, princess." I say, kissing her nose. "My mom gave me money for us to get breakfast, so let's go!"

Jumping back into the car she runs up to her apartment locking it and getting her phone and jacket. It's a little cold out today, which is weird because it's only the middle of August.

"So, how are you doing? We haven't talked in a day or two." I asked her feeling a little alone since we talk non stop since we started dating 6 months ago.

"I've been busy with family issues baby, I'm sorry." she says, turning towards the window.

"Yeah, me too babe." I say, letting a tear fall down.

"Jordan baby, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" She says, placing her hand on my facing wiping away the tear that is slowly creeping down my pale, cold cheek.

"Apparently my dad has been cheating on my mom for the past 3 1/3 months. I'm supposed to stay with you for a couple days if you didn't care. Mom told me to ask." I stutter out, getting upset over the fact that my dad is a total scumbag.

"Babygirl, you know you're always welcome. What's mine is yours. So my apartment is your apartment." She says, leaning over kissing my cheek.

"Hey, I have an idea." I say, anxious of what I'm about to say to her.

"What's that baby?" She says, looking at me.

"Why don't we leave. Just leave. Take this money my mom gave me, put some gas in my car and just go on a road trip across the country. We are both having family problems and we need to get away and what a better way then with you-" I say as Nikki leans over interrupting me with a kiss.

"That sounds perfect baby, I'm ready." she says, taking her hand in mine.
