Andy finally saw Game XChange in the distance and was excited, albeit a bit nervous, for her long-awaited interview. She had forgotten how terrible it was to walk any length in heels and was cursing herself for not just paying for a taxi.
**buzz buzz buzz**
She felt her mobile in her pocket, her stomach knotting at the thought of Sheldon on the other end of the line.
"Hello..."
"Hey, Andy! This is, uh, Stuart Bloom from the Comic Center," said a somewhat nervous (and irrevocably geeky) guy in a squeaky voice, "We had a look at your application, and, well...we don't have any...I mean, we thought it would help business to have a girl working here."
Andy doubled back and began pacing away from Game Xchange, looking for a bench to sit on or an ally way to hide in. She suddenly felt even more anxious with the thought of having to make a decision (being decisive it wasn't her thing).
"Wow, yeah...so do I need to come in for an interview?"
"Well, actually, we decided to just go ahead and hire you based on your resume and a good word from a frequent customer...assuming you're up for the job."
She wanted to giggle at the flattering thought of Sheldon giving her a good word, but it was no doubt one of the other guys that got her the job.
"Ok, I'll take it! Thank you so much! When do I start?"
Andy hung up the phone and looked at the time. Her interview should be starting at Game XChange soon. She wondered what the proper etiquette in this situation was...I suppose I'll wing it as usual, she thought.
After nearly tripping as she walked into Game Xchange in heels and seeing the manager roll his eyes as he commented that she didn't 'look like she played video games,' she felt incredibly satisfied at her drop-of-the-hat decision to join the Comic Center team.
"I had an interview for a position here, but I've actually just accepted another job. My apologies and thanks for your consideration." She walked out with a smile and a desire to share her good news with someone who had been on her mind a lot lately.

The guys sat at their usual spots in the Caltech cafeteria and shoveled in luke-warm pad thai noodles. Howard and Raj were going on about a new Syfy show that was supposed to be airing sometime that evening. And Leonard, though somewhat interested, was composing and re-composing a text message to Penny that conveyed how much he missed her in a non-desparate way.
Sheldon, however, didn't even begin to act like his usual self. He wasn't his usual self, he thought. If Leonard knew then Penny knew...and if Penny knew, Wolowitz and Bernadette and, consequently everyone else absolutely knew too. What a fantastic situation. Oh the things they must be thinking.
"Do you guys want to watch the show together tonight?" Howard asked in his usually excitable way.
"Sure!" said Leonard, looking up from his phone.
"I'll bring snacks! I found a cool recipe for these party pinwheels." said Raj as the other two looked at him with confusion and slight disapprovement.
"Sheldon, are you ok? You haven't said a single word since we sat down," Howard asked. Leonard shifted his eyes nervously back to his phone.
"I'm sure you all know that I am not okay, considering there is no such thing as keeping personal matters private anymore."
Howard and Raj, to Sheldon's surprise, still had no idea what was going on. They exchanged looks and Leonard suddenly coughed loudly, leaning over to Sheldon who moved away in disgust.
"They don't know, buddy," Leonard attempted at whispering.
"Don't know what?" Raj asked with wide, curious eyes.
I'm in hell, Sheldon thought. And he got up and walked away without a word.
"What was that about?" Howard asked, finishing the last of his lunch.
"God, if I wasn't such a good friend, I'd tell you everything right now," Leonard said with a little laugh. "Surely you'll figure it out soon...assuming Penny doesn't spill the beans even sooner."
