A/N: Alright, before I begin, here's a quick disclaimer:

1- This is an original story. I know my previous original stories didn't do so well, but I have a good feeling about this one.

2- This story is still a work in progress. So don't ask me when I'll release more chapters. This one-shot is just a testing ground to see if anyone's interested.

3- I'm still an amateur in romance stories and I wanna get better at it, so your opinions are appreciated.

With all that out of the way, let's get this show on the road!

(Flashback, 9 years ago)

It was a rainy day. A crying little girl was sitting at the entrance of a traditional book store to shield herself from the rain.

Little Girl: *Sob* Buaaahhh!!!

A young boy overheard her from the store and went to check on her.

Boy: H-Hey... Are you okay? What's wrong?

Little Girl: I'm lost! *Sob* I don't know where my home is... I'm hungry, and... and... It's cold! I wanna go home...! Papa~!

The boy was mildly panicking not knowing what to do.

Boy: Umm... D-Don't cry! Oh, I know! Come on in!

Little Girl: Huh?

The boy invited the girl inside and offers her a towel.

Boy: Here, have this!

Little Girl: W-What is that

Little Girl: W-What is that...?

Boy: It's melon bread. Tastes really good with hot milk!

The girl took a bite and was enamored.

Little Girl: Wow! You're right, it does!

Boy: Right? Hey, wanna see something cool?

Little Girl: Huh?

The boy pulls out a bar of chocolate.

Boy: Here. If you do this...

He then puts some chocolate into the piping hot milk, which melts and mixes with it.

Boy: Ta-dah! Hot milk chocolate!

She takes a sip and found it delicious.

Little Girl: It's even tastier than before! And I feel so warm!

Boy: So... Did that cheer you up? Even a little?

Little Girl: Yes, thank you so much!

Boy: My grandparents are out right now, but please make yourself comfortable.
