((Dean and Rickles are dead, so this is after their deaths. I only own Chief the dog and Angie.))
Abigail, [Name] was tired of being toyed with by that little vampire brat. After the last scuffle it appeared that sunlight was useful against the decades old creature. By now she had time to stay calm, but Chief had gone missing. That damn dog, as much as she loved him, he had been acting strange ever since Angie had brought him and [Name] into whatever was going on. Angie was the fledgling criminal, not yourself. "Where are you, Chief?" you call out into an eerily quiet room.
You personally hoped the three year old Shepinois (German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix) hadn't gotten himself hurt. Chief had been the only consistent male in your life, being there for comfort after every painful breakup with some guy that didn't deserve your kind self. Admittedly you celebrated his birthday every year with a doggy cake that was safe for him to eat, your iPhone's gallery was riddled with photos of the dog, and photos of you posing with him.
"You lose someone?" Frank asks in a curious tone of voice, it was so sudden [Name] barely had time to process the fact he had quietly made his way behind and next to their person.
"Fuck me–! " you hissed out of surprise and flinched along with the profanity.
"Why don't you get cleaned up first and then ask me later."
They rolled their eyes, "Oh real funny, smartass. I'm looking for my dog, okay?"
"Well, sounds like your problem then," he comments.
"Listen, why don't you leave me the hell alone?"
Despite having his past and skeletons revealed by Abigail, you wonder if there was much humanity left in the man. He couldn't really be "Four Eyes, Zero Soul", could he? You could do without his abrasive side, but figured that it was because of him being an ex-cop.
"Take a look around, your furry friend isn't here, so it looks like I'm going to have to keep a close eye on you," Frank stated.
"Hey guys? We have a situation." Angie's voice comes over the in-ear radios they were currently wearing, "Peter and Sammy have gone dark looking for that power supply..."
"Shit.." Joey's voice joins the signal, "Be careful and stay alert."
"Not good," Frank remarks. Before they could figure out a plan, Angie is back on the radio saying she had found Peter dead and that something had torn a hole in his neck. Frank glances behind he and yourself and seemed to be listening for something, "The fuck's that? Dog barking?"
Your stomach knots, "Ah shit, I hear it! Chief, hang on, I'm coming!" you holler before turning on a heel and running after the noise.
"Wait for me you goddamn idiot!" He calls after [Name].
They nearly ran right into Joey but narrowly avoided colliding with her, she said nothing and followed along with Frank. She too could hear the dog barks now and hoped they could make it in time. Rounding another turn in the halls and soon a canine-like screech ripped through the air, "No, no, no, no – Chief !" you half-sobbed. Bursting into the room they were greeted by Sammy, well, what appeared to be her. She smiled, blood– Chief's blood –dripping from her lips. She had broken his neck, which was where the screech had come from.
"Oops, I'm sorry , I bet this is hard to watch," Sammy says with an innocent giggle that reveals the tips of fanged teeth. That thing wasn't their friend anymore.
Your blood boiled, your former best friend in the entire world was now reduced to just a poor dog Happy Meal for a vampire. You inhale and exhale sporadically, feeling your knees buckle, sinking toward the cold and dingy flooring, "He didn't do anything wrong, he wasn't supposed to die!" you shouted at Sammy, unaware it was Abigail using the girl as her puppet.
