The Poisoned Beatle 2

Help From Wonder Woman

"There's gotta be someone else who can help us." Said Justin. Amanda stops crying and faces her friends. "Wonder Woman, she can help!" She said. "Of course! She helped us the last time Paul was poisoned!" Said Alex with a smile. "She even helped Derek in that awful dream I had when he ended his own life via a bottle of poison as well." Said Amanda. "Better give her a call." Said Max.

Amanda nods then gently puts Paul down before talking into her wrist communicator. "Wonder Woman, do you read me? Over." She said. "Go ahead, Amanda." Said Wonder Woman. "Remember when Paul accidentally drank poison two years ago?" Amanda asked. "Yes, and?" Wonder Woman said. "It's happened again, but a little differently than last time." Said Amanda. "How so?" Asked Wonder Woman. "I'll explain more when you get here." Amanda said. "Alright, I'm on my way over." Wonder Woman said.

The line goes dead a minute later. "Is she coming?" Alex asked. "Yeah. Meanwhile, we better try to figure out how the poison got here." Amanda said. "I'll bet another villain has it out for Paul, even though he's free from being targeted." Max said. "Why do they like going after him so much?" Justin asked. "Villains are cruel, that's for sure." Said Amanda.

Not a minute too soon, there's a knock on the door. "That must be Wonder Woman now." Said Max. Amanda looks through the peep hole. "Yep, she's here." She said. The swan princess opens the door to let the amazonian princess in. "Okay, you said Paul drank poison again?" Asked Wonder Woman. "Uh-huh, he's over there." Amanda said. She points to where Paul is laying motionless on the floor.

Wonder Woman puts her fingers on Paul's neck and checks his pulse. "Hera, he's dead!" Wonder Woman said. "It took effect right away since he drank the whole thing." Said Alex. "Do you still have the bottle it was in?" Asked Wonder Woman. "Right here." Said Justin. He hands Wonder Woman the bottle and she examines it. 

"Paul didn't drink the poison from the bottle, I should point that out." Max said. "He didn't?" Asked Wonder Woman. "No, here's the cup he drank it from." Said Amanda. She hands it to the amazonian princess. "And you said Paul drank the poison differently than last time?" Wonder Woman asked. "Uh-huh. I was thirsty, saw the bottle of poison, only I didn't know it was, then I poured it into a cup." Amanda said.

"Did any of you know?" Asked Wonder Woman. "Paul knew right away, but he didn't tell us until after he stopped Amanda from drinking it and consumed it himself." Justin said. "There's a skull and cross bones on the back of the bottle, so maybe that's how he figured it out." Alex said. "How did it even get in your room?" Wonder Woman asked as she faced Amanda. "That's what we'd like to know." Said Amanda.

A shadow passes by the window. "What was that?" Asked Justin. "Someone's out there." Said Alex. "You four see who it is, I'll watch over Paul. Amanda, where's the bedroom?" Asked Wonder Woman. "It's right behind you on the left hand side." Amanda said. Wonder Woman picks Paul up and carries him to the bedroom, gently laying him down on the bed.
