"I made a bad decision."  Was everything I was able to think.

I just arrived at the base and a lump already formed in my throat. I shouldn't have so many nerves about this, but I couldn't help it. I met so many people across my career, losing some, but I was still scared about the people I would meet. It felt different.

Taskforce 141. If you've been in the army for long enought then you'd definitly have heard about them. Rumors of their mission and their members.

The most recent rumor was that they were searching for another teammate.

I definitly didn't think that I would be the one.

My captain had called me in his office, a look I'd never seen on his face. He sat me down and told me I could always refuse what he was about to offer me, that I was by no chance forced to take this job. But I took it.

  Was it stupid? Probably.

I didn't even think my abilities were good enough for such a secretive and important taskforce but they thought so. And if the worlds best soldiers saw potential in me, then so did I.

Looking at the base. It was a bit less than I expected, the huge building only one floor, spreading across the most of the terain here. Everything look dull, secure at least. It was a military base anyway, so I shouldn't have had high expectations.

The drive here was quiet. The driver had been really nice but I think he could've told how nervous I was and just left me alone. I appreciated the quiet, being able to settle some of my thoughts but somehow, I was still nervous. A lot.

We soon arrived and I got out of the car, putting my duffle bag over my shoulder.

A man walked towards me, a hat on his head, a trimmed beard. He had a welcoming smile on his face, walking towards me in a steady pace.

"Ah, you must be the new Seargent?" He asks, his voice deep but soothing, reminding me of my fathers voice.

"Oh, yes." I nod quickly, already feeling the heat go through my body. I was nervous and it quickly became clear that everyone could tell.

  He laughs. He laughs?

"No worries, you don't have to be nervous. I'm Captain John Price." He holds his hand out to me and I quickly do so aswell, shaking hands with him. "We're all friendly here, we don't bite. Well most of us." He chuckles.

"Uhm, great." I nod, having no idea what he meant.

"Let me show you around now, hm?" He smiled. His friendly demeanor starting to calm me.

I nod and follow his lead. He walks through the doors, landing us right in an almost empty room. Having only some chairs and a lonely desk alongside some dead plants. I look around, inspecting every detail.

"I'll take you to your room first and then I'll show you some of the more important places." Price tells me. His stance relaxed as if he were proud to be showing his home off.

"Yep." I answer. My nervousness had already started to dissappear a bit.

We walked around a bit till we reached a corridor with multiple doors. The Captain lead me to the furthest one away, the door to the right.

"This'll be your quarter, you also have your personal bathroom now." He says, still showing his proud smile off.

"We have our own bathrooms?" I say without even realizing, my eyes opening slightly more.
