To his surprise, Jennie continued using her phone and did not even pause to glance at him.

Through the rearview mirror, Suho could not gain a clear look of her face. He only saw the large bucket head concealing most of her lowered face.

The wispy smoke slowly filled the vehicle. In the backseat, Jennie inhaled the smoke and quickly lost consciousness. Her head slanted forward and her appearance remained concealed by the bucket hat.

"What a smooth mission!" Suho smirked arrogantly. "Now that I've captured Jennie alive, the reward money will be more than enough for me to spend the rest of my life in luxury."

The cigarette he lit earlier contained drugs that would cause one to lose consciousness. It filled the vehicle with the smoke dissipating slowly inside.

Of course, he had taken the antidote beforehand and was not affected by it.

The car was not headed towards the Guo Mao Building. Instead, it drove out of the city centre and into the mountain region in the suburbs. There, a group of people were waiting in ambush.

Someone was planning to use Jennie to take Lisa down.

...

At the same time, in the Yu Ting Villa, an office desk had been arranged next to the pool. Lisa sat before the desk and watched as a blinking red dot moved across the map on his laptop screen.

Jennie, who was supposed to be in Suho's car, was seated by Lisa's side. She spoke up indifferently. "He has driven into the mountains."

They had long been on their guard against this trash. Earlier, when Suho left for the convenience store, she had hurriedly alighted from the car. A woman who was dressed identically to her had quickly replaced her.

Suho's car was bugged with a tracker and the red dot on the map indicated the car's location.

Behind the red dot, ten green dots were rapidly approaching the red dot from every direction. These were Lisa's people.

Very quickly, the red and the green dots overlapped.

That indicated that Suho and his people had discovered that the woman in the car was not Jennie.

A portion of Lisa's people carried pinhole cameras on their clothes.

Through the laptop screen, they watched as a gun battle occurred between Lisa and Suho's people.

Suho and his men appeared not to have expected their hostage to be swapped. A woman who had been sent as bait was completely useless as a threat against Lisa. Right as they cursed heavily at the discovery, they were surrounded by Lisa's men. Caught off guard, they quickly succumbed to serious injuries.

Two hours later, all twenty men on Suho's side were killed.

They managed to keep one man half-alive and interrogated him regarding the identity of the mastermind. However, the man insisted that he had received Somi's money, and that was completing his mission because he valued honour, no matter if Somi was already ruined in captivity.

Corpses were scattered across the forest. That included Suho's, whose eyes remained open despite his death.

Lisa watched as the circumstances unfolded. Despite the sight of the corpses, his wife remained unfazed. A hint of astonishment flashed past his distant gaze. "Aren't you afraid?"

She shook her head. "I'll just take it as if I'm watching a movie." Although the earlier scenes were camera footage of the actual situation in the mountains.

He smiled. "I couldn't tell that my wife was this brave."

She took the initiative to sit on his lap, wrapping her slender arms around his firm body.

"En?" He sensed that something was troubling her.

"I have the feeling that the mastermind behind all this isn't Somi." Jennie frowned.

"Indeed, it isn't her. She didn't have the ability to do so. The people who tried to abduct you in an attempt to threaten me, are from the same organisation as the men who previously tried to ambush me twice." Lisa watched Jennie and a hint of worry flashed past his eyes. "Wife, they are clearly targeting me. I've implicated you in all this."
