Thankfully, the strong wind was moving in her direction. The enormous waves quickly pushed the shark's body closer to them.
"Lisa, do you still have any strength?" She lowered her head to take in his pale complexion.
He shook his head. His four limbs had grown numb and he could not move his arms or legs.
She kept one arm around his waist and supported his head to remain afloat. She then opened the first aid kit with her other hand.
The first-aid kit was made with top-grade plastic and it remained afloat in the ocean.
She had wrapped the strap around herself so the first-aid kit remained on her despite all the difficulties they faced.
There were many medicines useful for emergencies, for injuries, fever, bleeding...
There was also a surgical knife. She brought out the surgical knife and made an approximate guess of the surgical box's size. She then quickly cut around two kilograms worth of meat from the shark's body.
She carelessly washed the meat with the seawater to take away the blood. She then shook it dry as much as she could before storing it in the first aid box.
The fish meat took up all the remaining space in the box as she shut it close.
The shark's body was truly too big. It bled relentlessly and the seawater around them was quickly dyed red.
They needed to move away from the corpse immediately. Otherwise, it would only attract more dangerous predators.
She had spent all her energy dealing with this shark and did not have the strength to deal with anything else anymore.
Thus, with the life jacket on her, she held onto Lisa tightly and quickly began swimming away from the shark's body.
When they were about a hundred metres away, she saw from afar that several sharks had broken the surface and were eating the carcass...
In an instant, the fright left her covered in cold sweat.
Lisa noticed this too. He narrowed his sharp gaze slightly.
She brought Lisa to swim further away, until they could no longer locate the shark's body.
Thankfully, no other sharks had pursued them.
Lisa had already grown unconscious. He rested his head against Jennie's shoulder and murmured subconsciously. "Watch, compass..."
Jennie was dressed in the life jacket as she held onto Lisa. The ocean appeared boundless and they were drifting along with the waves.
Although they would not drown anytime soon, they did not have any directions to pursue.
No matter where she looked, the deep blue ocean appeared boundless. They were but a small speck on this enormous body of water and it seemed like they would lose their lives here anytime.
She was stumped as to where they were supposed to head when she heard Lisa's words. She lifted his left arm and saw the expensive watch on his wrist. On the centre of the watch, there was a short needle with a diamond on its end. It appeared to be a decoration but it was actually pointing in the north direction.
She immediately understood that his watch also functioned as a compass.
However, his gunshot wound had already been soaking in the sea water for too long.
She wasn't sure how long it would take them to find land. If things persisted as they were, he would die of a wound infection.
She needed to remove the bullet from his chest!
Jennie patted Lisa's face and watched as he regained a hint of consciousness. She gritted her teeth to say. "Lisa, I'll do a surgery on you."
"In the ocean?" A hint of astonishment flashed past his eyes.
"En." She nodded.
"Alright." There wasn't the slightest hint of objection on his pale face.
Truthfully, he understood that the moment she removed the bullet from his wound, he would suffer immense blood loss. As they were both soaking in the water, he would then quickly lose his life.
It was good to die like this.
At the very least, he wouldn't be a burden to her any longer..
