a/n - heyhey heyyyy! there's a few updates made on the text, nothing major though, just the descriptions of Kai and Aurora.

Normally I don't tell people about my past- heck, I barely tell anyone anything... but when I met Aurora, something about her compelled me to.

I grew up as an orphan. The last thing I remember of my family is fire, pain, and darkness. From an early age, I learned to fight, growing up by yourself teaches you that. But for me, it was extra difficult, You see, I am blind. I have been, for basically my entire life. I don't remember anything about what the world looks like... and I don't think I ever will.

Today was a normal day. Just the regular dose of kicking villain ass... except that All Might has arrived and now all of the villains have scurried over to my area because their all wimps. I was sitting at the top of a tall building- to this day I still don't know what it's for or what's inside of it.

I was on the very edge of the roof, staring out at what I assumed was the sun setting in the distance. Suddenly, I heard the faintest hint of a step behind me. Judging from the sound of the step, whoever is behind me is lightweight and skilled- and from the lightness and delicacy, they are most likely female... don't make any major moves yet... assess them first.  I stood up, keeping my back to them, and not making any moves to unsheathe any weapons.

"You know~," a musical voice said behind me, "technically, I have the advantage here. I am the one who isn't  standing on the very edge of a tall building"

I smirked, shifting my body to a more relaxed pose, a female- I was right, "Well what if I had wings hmm? What if I could levitate?"

"What if you don't? What if I pushed you off and you fell to your doom?" Her voice had an edge of humor as she let out a short, soft laugh.

"Well~," I said, finally turning around to face her, "you wouldn't hurt a poor, innocent soul like me~ would you?" I stifled a laugh at her shock as she noticed that I couldn't see her, or the edge of the building I was standing on. "Kai," I said, letting a small smile appear. "They/them, please," I added, letting out a small laugh.

"Aurora," She responded, also letting out a small laugh, "she/her."

"It's nice to meet you, Aurora."

"So," I said, taking a sip of my drink. We had decided to get to know each other better, so we met up and took turns asking questions after we stopped by a cafe. Now we were just walking around the city. "What is your quirk? If you don't mind me asking,"

"Oh! I forgot about that," Aurora let out a small laugh, "My only request is that you don't freak out about it... I've gotten many negative reactions from a lot of people"

"Okay," I responded, taking another sip of my drink. "Sure."

"I- I can read minds..."

What-

...

Oh-

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE

"Ohhhhhh-" I breathed out, finally connecting the dots, "That makes so much sense." That's useful in battle- wait... does that mean she can project her thoughts to others? And is she always hearing everything, from everyone?

"I hear everything, but I've been working on blocking thoughts out so it's less of a headache for me." Aurora replied, keeping her gaze on the path they were walking on, "And I haven't tried projecting because anytime I tell someone my quirk, they tend to avoid me afterward.
