Chefs are a really important thing to talk about as there are a lot of them and a few are actually my ocs and already have a design and background story.
Chefs are the most powerful individual when it comes to a certain clan, it's a title that passes down from parent to kid every generation, if a chef has no kid and goes past their time as a chef (since you can only have this much power for so long), the title is transfered to some random person from the clan.
Each clan has a single chef, some chefs have a specific title (Satan, God) and some of them are just called "[clan]'s chef".
In this universe, God didn't create everything (obviously), it's powers are limited. It's also not any specific God, it's a mix of a few different religions. God doesn't actually have any specific values, people can still have religions with beliefs since they most likely won't meet the actual God and don't know it's values and "rules", most mono-god religions didn't change a whole lot apart from the whole "heaven/hell" thing since the "good/bad" has been debunked since we now know that heaven isn't a reward and hell isn't a punishment.
A chef's powers that are added with the title will disapear once the title is removed (given to someone else). Some chefs have the ability to traver through dimensions a lot easier (exemple: God) BUT they cannot interact with the dimension and lose their powers when entering it.
A popular belief is that chefs are rich, that's not true, they're powerful, doesn't mean they make money. Some chefs in some clans have, indeed, been crowned to look after the kindom, but that's by choice from the people. Most clans respect chefs without necessarily giving them any money or big ceremonies. It really does depend mostly on wether the territory is in danger and needs the chef to protect them, rewarding them with royalty and loyalty OR wether the territory is just some random society with no need for protection, seeing the chef as more of someone they better not mess with rather than a hero.
