Chapter 2

Huening Kai arrived back at the hotel TXT was staying at. He parked his car and got out, shutting his door. He walked over to the entrance, grabbing his phone out of his pocket.

"Ah, just in time! Soobin wants a quick meeting before we get ready." Beomgyu walked side by side with Kai, walking into the hotel.

"Where did you just come from?" Kai asked, surprised.

"I was on the phone with Tess. She's in the States right now, visiting her parents. How's Ari? I'm excited to see my little sister."

"She's doing good. She's excited to see everyone as well." Kai pushed the button to the elevator. The elevator dinged, and the doors slid open, the boys getting on. The doors shut, and they started going up.

"Are you still planning on telling her how you feel tonight?" Beomgyu asked. Out of the four guys, Beomgyu was the one that Kai confided in about his feelings towards Ari. Whatever was said between the two, it never reached the others. Kai is closed with the rest of the guys, but Beomgyu was someone that he could open up more to, especially about his feelings."

"Yeah, I am. I'm kind of nervous. I don't want things to get awkward if she doesn't reciprocate my feelings back." Kai said.

"I wouldn't worry about it. I'm 99% sure that she feels the same way." The elevator doors opened to their floor, and they stepped out, turning right.

"What about the 1%?" Kai took out his card key and inserted it into the door, the light turning green. He opened the door.

"Uhhhh, I don't know. You have the necklace that you're going to give her?" Beomgyu closed the door and went to lay on the couch, propping up his feet.

Kai went over to his suitcase and rummaged around until he felt the small box. He pulled it out. A velvet black box was in his hand. He opened it up and there laid a white gold ivy diamond pendant necklace. He walked over to Beomgyu and showed him.

"Wow! That is beautiful! She will love it."

"Thanks! I hope so." Kai closed the lid and set it down on the table.

"Who's gonna love what?" Soobin, Taehyun, and Yeonjun walked in. They were already in their suits for the night. "Why aren't you guys ready?" Yeonjun asked as he sat down in the chair next to the couch.

Beomgyu and Kai stared at the guys. "There's 2 more hours until the gala, and Gyu said that you wanted to have a quick meeting before we got dressed. And I just got back from visiting Ari." Explained Kai.

"Ah! Ari! Can't wait to see her! How is she?" Yeonjun asked.

Kai rubbed the bridge of his nose. How many times is he going to have to hear this. "She's good. She's excited to see you guys, too."

"Sweet. You gonna confess your undying love to her?" Taehyun asked, smiling and winking at him.

"Yes, guys. I am, and I swear if I see any of you trying to watch, I will kill you while you're sleeping." Kai sat down on the couch next to Beomgyu, laying his head back and staring at the ceiling.

"Okay, guys. Let's lay off him. Kai's a big boy, about to do a big boy thing. We are proud of you. Our little brother is growing up." Soobin said in all seriousness, though he was trying to hide a smile. The other guys cheered Kai and gave him pats on the shoulder. Kai was mortified. He sat up and buried his hands in his hands.

"Yah, stop it!" Kai yelled.

Beomgyu patted his back. "There there, Kai. All will go well."

Soobin went to stand in front of the guys and talked about how tonight would go. "Now, there shouldn't be any problems, but I want you all to carry just in case. Make sure your guns are hidden well. I don't want any of the guests to know. I'm pretty sure Mr. Choi and his men will be as well, and I'm assuming there will be security everywhere. Just make sure to keep your eyes open. Got it?"
