There's a fight scene which involves slight gore :D - Author's note

Hi! I'm Haruto, an alien (by which you humans call me) from a distant planet call Sora. I am currently on the planet known as Earth though I must say, Earth is kind of like my home planet but humans can't do cool things like flying or shooting lasers which is kind of disappointing. I have found that Japanese people have the most similar culture of our kind which is really exciting to see because I'm so far away from home and I really miss my home.

Now why am I here on Earth instead of Sora? Well as the son of the commander of the Defense Force, I really want to join the defense force. I believe that with enough training, I can do it. I have been training so hard, fought every monster in the simulations and I already grew so much taller but father doesn't see it. He never does. He still doesn't think I'm good enough to join and I just can't see why. He says by training, training, training, I'll be better and I do train but it still isn't enough and it never will be. Okay, now enough talking about training and now let's talk about how I got stuck here on Earth as a floating spirit.

My friends and I were training on planet Moa, a planet known for its calming environment, and suddenly we got attacked by a super tall monster and it started burning down the trees and attacked us. We fought back and used all that we got, everything that was put into training and I died. Only I died. Yeah. Honestly I thought it was a chance for me to prove to my father that I could do it, I didn't need anymore help, that I'm as strong as my cousin or my instructor but yeah I died. To be fair though the monster took me by surprise so it wasn't fair. In normal circumstances, I could have beaten the monster but I didn't. It's okay though because sometimes, Sorians can regenerate their body and I guess I was lucky enough to barely survive the attack and become particles of light, waiting for recovery. I wandered around the universe and eventually got to Earth and decided to stay there due to its resemblance to Sora. During my time there, I met a Japanese boy name Kazuki so I decided to follow him around for the rest of my time as a spirit.

Kazuki is 25 years old and works in a cafe down the street owned by a nice japanese grandma named Mindy. She's short and always has her hair in a neat bun. Mostly, it's just the two of them in the cafe with the customers and time goes by quite well

It is now 5:30am. Kazuki is fast asleep and I was sitting on his bed next to him and he doesn't even know. It has been 2 years since the day I died and I could feel today is the day that I finish regenerating my body. I just need the morning sun's energy and then I'll go. The sun was starting to rise and I got close to the window, lifted my hand up to soak up all the sunshine and I could feel it! I could feel my body becoming visible again! I have a body again! After 2 years of silence and nothing, I feel like something again! I walked over to Kazuki's mirror, curious to see what I looked like again. I saw a boy wearing blue and red armor and a helmet that had horns on it (just like my father's). It was the same outfit I wore 2 years ago. A big, goofy smile slowly spread across my face. I wonder if father missed me. 2 years alone sure must be lonely even for a busy guy like him.

It was currently 6:10 am. In twenty minutes, Kazuki would be awake and I would already have opened a portal to Sora and gone home. I turned to leave but then I saw Kazuki's sleeping face and thought about the times I spent with him (the most memorable was the time he asked a girl out out. He got rejected 💀). Even though he doesn't know I'm here, it would be nice to give him something to thank him for giving me hope. Back on Sora, I made dinner when my father was working late, which is almost everyday. Combined with the new strategies I learned on Earth, I decided to make him breakfast as a thank you gift. I started by frying an egg but I think all the smoke woke him up.

"What is going on?" Kazuki said, coughing and rubbing his eyes.

I flipped the egg and it was burnt. My cooking skills had become rusty. My bad.
