"Alright Murphy, your sentence was shortened, you're outta here". The male cop said his thick Italian accent making Vega shiver with emotions. As he opened the steel door and placed hand cuffs on Vega, she looked up at him, she'd miss flirting with him playfully while looking at his thin curly hair and green eyes, but now she had bigger things to worry about as she past her ex-cell mates and fellow prisoners, the realization kicking in that she didn't have a ride home, nor money for an Uber, not that she had a phone anyway, but it still bothered her that she'd have to walk the whole 17 miles home.

Officer Sinclair escorted her to the bailiff's office where she then got processed and her possessions were given back to her

. "Bye bye, Ronda! I'm finally free!". Vega yelled as she walked out the big steal door, getting a small smile from Ronda, she was an alcoholic who came in frequently for driving while intoxicated, but she kept Vega company while her cellmates were gone. The Italian cop tipping his blue hat to her before congratulating her and saying his goodbye's as he walked back inside.

Vega smiled a bit before sighing, opening her bag of possessions to make sure everything was there. "Ugh. they didn't let me keep shades". Vega grumbled. Things just weren't going right for her this year she thought as she started walking down the road.

"Crap! My apartment!". She whispered yelled, "oh god I'm 2 months late on my payments, plus the time I was in jail, shit!". She thought to herself as her last bit of freedom was washed away, now she'd have to work over time at the club, just to pay *some* of the rent. As her thoughts overwhelmed her and a tear formed in her eyes, she heard a car beep behind her. She looked behind her to see a black Chevy Malibu, slow down behind her. "Great now I'm getting kidnapped, should I run? ugh! I'll just stay and see what they want". She muttered under her breath, "It's not like it could be any worse than giving lap dances to assh*les anyway". She thought as the car stopped on the side of her.

"Murphy? Maxine Murphy? I heard you got out of jail, you need a ride?". The man said from in the car. Vega recognized his voice but she couldn't see his face, how'd he know her name anyway?. "Uh yeah, wait.. Officer Felix?!". She shouted, the "tough" cop who gave everyone shit in prison was offering her a ride?. "God could this  night get any weirder?". She muttered under her breath. "Yeah it's me, now ya gonna get in or are you just gonna sit here in the dark?". She snapped back to the "weird" reality she was in and said yes as she tried opening the door. "Here wait!", Felix shouted as he stepped out of the car and ran to the other side. He opened the door, bowing slightly, making her feel like royalty.

She got in still a little shocked that she was in the tough cops car, let alone that he offered her a ride home.

He went to the drivers side of the car and started the engine. Slightly smiling, he asked her where she lived, "oh uh..30 Griffith St.". She stammered, "But I don't know if I'll be able to go in my apartment, I haven't payed my rent in months". She awkwardly chuckled.

Felix hummed and grumbled, "any family?". He said still with a slight smile.

Maxine paused, her family members were disgusted by her, she had no one except.. Sonya! She was one of Maxine's older friends.

"No family, but I got a friend, her names Sonya Whiteburg, she lives on Easton Rd. Big blue house". Maxine blurted out after her minute long thought train.

"Alright then". He said kinda sarcastically.

They drove for around 17 minutes before they stopped at the big blue house, it had a chocolate brown door, a warm welcome to Maxine.

Just as she grabbed her things Felix caught her attention by patting her hand, "Here if things don't work out with ya friend, give me a call, we'll work something out". He handed her a tissue with his number on it, and a little message that basically said "good luck".
