Mavka's brain was dying, listing to the scroll man talk, telling her her task. "Find the stone of fire and power", he droned. "For if our Lord Satan possess it nothing will stand in the way, not even the likes of heaven and God!".
Mavka had only heard of this stone in whisperings between higher class demons, it was real. I was said to have the power to wipe out heaven with a touch. If Satan got it then the war would be swift and heaven would fall. God who had never bothered to check if there was an innocent child born in hell, would be crushed like an ant and the Overworld would go to chaos. Mavka fancied some chaos.
A dozen warrior demons took her to a gap in a rock face at the edge of hell. The man with the scroll started to speak again. "Once in the Overworld you must look and act like the humans. There maybe undercover angels and we don't want them to catch on too quickly. Sin, steal, cheat, win."
Mavka nodded and began to squeeze herself into the gap. After an hour of rock pressing on her chest she began to wonder if this was some trick, away of killing demons without them knowing. Light began to appear and Mavka found herself in an empty side street. The gap she had come from was protected by a loose curtain.
First, a disguise. Mavka walked into a bustling market place, clothes, jewellery and art was being sold at every side of the street and a stream of people moved up and down. It was cold, very cold, Mavka was used to the heat of hell so 21°C of the Overworld was making her shiver. In the huge crowd it wasn't hard to steal some clothes and a public bathroom was a good place to change. Black leather jacket, dark green tank top and low rise black trousers. She needed shoes. A pair of black faux leather boots fitted perfectly.
