in which six uni students accidentally create the latest dating app sensation... for a class project.

"and for the final group, dongyeon, jihyun, seunghee, shinwoo, hyeon, and jini," the professor yelled out the last group of students for the assignment that was just given. "you guys will be given a month to determine the theme, what media you will use, and how you will present it to the class. good luck!" and with that, the bell rang, signalling that the class was over.
in hindsight, the professor knew what he was doing by pairing the six of them together as he was well aware they were all friends, but he also had a hunch that something major would come of their group in particular, so he stuck with it. the six that were called though... maybe weren't as happy.

"I wanted to be paired with dohyun!" jihyun whined as he slid back against his chair, watching his five friends walk up to him and set their stuff around the surrounding area. "this is so unfair."
dongyeon laughed, "you are aware he isn't into guys, right?" the second the words left his mouth the taller boy stood up and pushed his face closer to his in anger. "he's so into me, I can feel it."
"look behind you and then tell me what you see." dongyeon replied, pointing his finger discreetly to a familiar silhouette all the while holding back his giggles. when jihyun turned his body in anger, his jaw dropped to the floor and he stayed like that for a couple seconds before jini closed it and gently pushed him back into his seat.
"WHY ARE ALL THE HOT ONES TAKEN?" he cried, slamming his head onto the table with a loud thud that made all five of them wince. hyeon patted his shoulder before he raised his head with a fire lit in his eyes,
"what if we created a dating app?"
shinwoo raised an eyebrow, "you think we," he points to all of them, "are smart enough to make an app, nonetheless a functional dating app?"
"well, we're all gay," jihyun motions to the four of them before landing on dongyeon and shinwoo. "he's a straight dilf... and you're just... straight. we can so make it work."
"I'm a what now?" dongyeon mumbled to himself as he continued to watch the other two boys go on a tyrant about their capabilities in making a dating app. seunghee crossed her arms and sighed quietly before slamming her hand down onto the table between the two.
"how about we make a test trial and if it goes well we finish it fully and if it doesn't we find something else to do for our project?"
"woah..." hyeon claps his hands in awe. "for once seunghee is the one with the braincells! I feel like a proud father." seunghee whips her head around and flicks hyeon on the forehead, "have some respect, I'm older than you."
with hyeon whining in pain holding his forehead, jihyun, shinwoo, and dongyeon agree with the idea. as they pack up their bags and begin to head out, jihyun notices a book on the story of cupid sitting on the professor's desk and an idea bubbles in his head.
"hey guys," he called out, watching as seunghee, hyeon, jini, shinwoo, and dongyeon all look back at him. with a happy, lovestruck smile on his face, he beams, "what if we named it CLICK CUPID!?"
─ ♥︎ TO THE BETA TESTERS, FROM JIHYUN hello everyone who asked for a tag, as well as my five lovely friends (jia, acia, feven, diya, and aldrin) who all agreed to be listed as "creators" for this af as the friend group who created the app! if I'm speaking honestly, there was some drama going around during the preparations for this af but it only fueled my want to make this happen. if you were there when it occurred or know what happened, please note that I will continue to stand by my opinions on the matter. I want this applyfic to be a fun, safe, and inclusive space and experience for people to make characters and interact with one another. I hope you all look forward to it as much as I am.
