Ivy's pov:

I'm sitting on Cora's living room floor, her Mums out on a trip this weekend so me and Eli are staying over. We just got back from bowling which was super fun, I also happened to bump into c- Miss Quinlan.

My phone buzzes and I see a text from the last person I thought would text me.

Evie:

Hey Ve, how are you doing ? It's been a while but I've been thinking about you a lot recently. I know I always said I was straight it was just causal to me but I can't stop thinking about you and I've come to now realise I'm not and it wasn't. I loved you Ve and I still do.

My eyes well up with tears as the thought of her, and the nickname. The fucking nickname. Only her called me Ve, it was her thing to call me and it always gave me butterfly's when she did.

Cora and Eli notice my sudden silence and take seats next to me. Their eyes widen as they read the text.

"Bullshit Ivy, don't let her lie her way back into your life again okay? She was super shitty to you and she doesn't deserve you." Cora speaks running her fingers through my hair.

"She says she sorry, she's realised what she wants. That's all I ever wanted from her I mumble and they both stay silent for a minute.

"Are you gonna respond?" Eli asks and I just shrug. "I think it would be good if you did" Eli adds on.

"I don't think you should." Cora argues

"I'm going to" I say and Cora lets out a sigh.

"Need help on what to say??" Eli asks reading through the message once again.

"I'm okay, you guys can start the cookies I'll be in soon" they nod and walk out the room into the kitchen.

I sit there for a few minutes thinking of what to write before starting a response.

Me :

Hi. I'm okay you know since we hooked up and then I got to wake up to a note saying "sorry, I'm straight" along with 4 months of no contact from my "best friend". But yeah I'm doing great!... 🤩

She immediately reads it and I see the three dots straight away.

My phone buzzes once again her text righting the screen.

Evie :

I'm sorry Ve, I really am I've realised my feelings now and I miss you, I miss you so much Vee. Please. I just wanna see you.

Fuck. I know I should say no and block her or something but the memories flood my head. I do miss my best friend and it can't hurt to talk to her, just this once. Right?

Me :
Okay..

Evie :
Wanna come round to mine tomorrow night? We can watch movies like we used to...????🙏

Me :
Mkay.

I shut my phone off and walk to the kitchen to help Cora and Eli with the cookies since neither of them have any idea how to even turn an oven on.

We eventually finish baking the cookies. Cora's making hot chocolate as me and Eli are watching her (and laughing at her) whilst she try's to figure out how to use a kettle.

I'm standing outside Evie's house, I'm wearing a black pleaded skirt, a red long sleeve v-neck showing just enough cleavage, it's almost winter which means it's fairly cold here so I added tights and leg warmers aswell as my ear muffs which are currently hanging around my neck and of course my usual jewellery.
