CH.1

"You be good at school, okay? I don't want your principal calling me and saying you got caught fighting or something." Gwenn sighed and punched her brother's arm softly. She had never gotten in trouble, but he just liked teasing her.

"Whatever Garv, wish me luck!" She hugged her brother, Garvyn, one last time and she headed out of the restaurant. She had recently moved into this new district as her brother had inherited the restaurant she just walked out of. Today was her first day at a new school and on the outside she seemed calm and ready-to-go, but on the inside she was panicking, a lot.

"This can't be too bad-" Her thoughts were interrupted by a guy yelling. "Oi! Armin!! We're 15 minutes early we're not gonna be late!!" Three people, two guys and a girl zoomed past her and towards the school. One of them apparently was worried that they were going to be late.

Gwenn continued walking towards the school and looked around town while she was at it. As she approached the school, her heart raced and she felt extremely anxious. The main gate was big and the school crest and name were up at top. "Shiganshina Academy" She read. She felt her heartbeat in her ears as she finally entered the unfamiliar campus. Many people looked at her while she walked to the administration building that was up front. A couple of whispers and a whistle or two were heard among the groups of students. She could feel her face heat up from the embarrassment but she continued walking and into the building.

There was a lady in the front desk and as soon as she entered she was greeted with a friendly, "Hello! You must be the new student?"

"Huh? Oh, yes... How did you know?" Gwenn looked at the lady with a confused expression. "Well dear, your expression says it all. You walked in here looking so lost! Also, we were told to look out for a new student, we don't get that many." The lady chuckled and handed her a piece of paper. "Is this my-" "Schedule, yes." The lady pointed at the first class that was highlighted yellow. "This is your homeroom. It's not very far, and there's about 10 minutes left before school starts, but you should try to get there early and look around the school a bit." Gwenn thanked the nice office lady and headed back to the masses of students. She decided to take her advice and start heading towards the main school building, hoping she wouldn't be too lost. She walked slowly, looking down at her schedule to look at the rest of the classes. "Ms. Hanji... Homeroom... Ms. Ral... Home Ec...." She murmured the classes to herself. Suddenly, she bumped into something, no... Someone.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" She apologized to the guy in front of her. "Eh? Oh, it's fine. Are you ok?" The guy had brown hair and beautiful green eyes. Gwenn found herself staring a bit too long and quickly looked away. "Uh, yeah! I'm fine." "Good. Hey, I haven't seen you around here... Are you new?" The guy asked. "Yeah, was it too obvious? I'm Gwenn by the way, I'm sorry for being so clumsy." She apologized again. "Just a bit, haha. I'm Eren, nice to meet you Gwenn." He smiled at her. "I was on my way to meet up with my friends, I had to do something. Why don't you come along and meet them too? It's good to make some friends, no?" Gwenn smiled back and nodded her head. "If it's not too much of a bother, I'd like to meet them! Thanks Eren."

"Eren, why did you take so long? It's almost class- Hey, who's that?" A blonde guy asked. "New student?" A girl with short black hair answered. "Hey guys. Sorry, I bumped into her along the way. Her name is Gwenn and she's new." Eren turned to Gwenn. "Gwenn, this is my best friend Armin. And she's my sister and also best friend, Mikasa." Armin extended his hand. "Nice to meet you Gwenn! It's exciting to have a new student!" Gwenn shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too." Mikasa nodded at her. "It's nice to meet both of you." Gwenn smiled at them and looked back down at her schedule.

"Uh, do you guys know where Ms. Hanji's class is? That's my homeroom." She showed the trio her paper. "Hanji? That's our homeroom too!" Eren grabbed her by the arm and started leading her back to the main building. "She's a bit weird... But she's a super fun science teacher. We had her last year too." Eren chuckled. "Remember when she made that chemical explode? The room was completely covered in smoke!" The trio laughed. "She sounds amazing haha." Gwenn, guided by Eren, walked through the long hallways. They stopped at a white door with a huge "CAUTION" poster in the middle, surrounded by many little flowers and animals. "Quite contradictory" she thought.

"Ms. Hanji~! New student~!" Eren yelled as soon as he entered the room. The bell rung a second after and the voices and footsteps of students was heard in the hallways. A woman with glasses and brown hair emerged from a storage closet. "Did I hear new student???" She smiled at Gwenn and when she was close enough, she extended her hand. "Hello there! I'm Ms. Hanji or Ms. H, whatever! Nice to meet you... What's your name?" "I'm Gwenn. Gwenn Hirsch. It's nice to meet you too, Ms. Hanji." Gwenn returned the smile and shook her hand. "Gwenn! Welcome dear. You're very pretty! I hope Eren here wasn't hitting on you?" She winked. "Huh? No! I just met her!" Eren laughed nervously. "Oh! No, he was very nice! Armin and Mikasa as well!" Gwenn blushed slightly. "I'm just teasing~" Ms. Hanji chuckled.

A couple of students started entering the classroom. All of them had their eyes glued on Gwenn and the trio. "You three kids go sit. Gwenn, you can introduce yourself to the class after the bell rings again, ok? I'll let you sit in one of the spare seats when you're done." Ms. Hanji started writing something on the whiteboard and her new friends went to, what she supposed were, their usual seats.

The bell finally rung and all of the students were seated. Gwenn stood awkwardly up front, everyone stared at her. "Class, we have a new student. Please be nice and listen." Ms. Hanji signaled her to start. "H-hi. My name is Gwenn and I just moved to this district. It's nice to meet you all." She tried her best to smile and everyone chorused "Hi, Gwenn."

"Alright! You can sit next to..." Ms. Hanji scanned the room for an empty seat. "Ah! There. Next to Jean? Is that empty?" A guy in the back raised his hand and said, "Yeah, it's empty." "Alright then dear, go sit there. Don't spend too much time chitchatting ok?" Gwenn walked to her seat. As she passed by Eren he looked at her and said, "If horseface bothers you come tell me ok? He's an idiot, with girls especially." She was taken aback from his comment but nodded. "Hey! I heard you Jaeger! Don't give her a bad impression of me already!!" The guy she was supposed to sit next to called out. The class giggled and Eren just glared at him.

"I'm pretty nice, don't worry." Gwenn sat down and nodded. "It's ok, I think Eren's just joking?" "Ha, yeah right. Anyways, the name's Jean. This guy next to me is my friend Marco. He's cool." Jean pointed at a guy with brown hair and freckles. "Nice to meet you Gwenn!" Marco smiled and waved. "It's nice to meet both of you." Gwenn added. "Oh and, I know I'm good looking, but don't fall for me too quickly, ok? Haha." Jean mentioned. "Uh... Sure?" Gwenn gave him a puzzled expression. He wasn't ugly, he had brown hair and brown eyes, but he was a bit too full of himself. "Don't mind him Gwenn. He's just joking." Marco butted in before Jean could continue. "I hope we can be your friends though." He smiled again. "Yeah, that would be great!" She was glad to have made two new friends. "Alright! We should listen to Ms. Hanji now. I don't want our new student to get in trouble the first day"  Marco suggested. "Always a goodie-goodie." Said Jean. The three of them looked to the front and focused on the lesson. Gwenn looked towards Eren's seat and caught him looking at her direction as well. She waved at him a little and he returned it, but quickly turned back around. "Ha. Jeager's probability crushing on you so hard right now!" Jean laughed. "What? But we just met" Gwenn responded. "Eh." He turned back to Ms. Hanji's lesson.

Gwenn focused on the lesson and took a couple notes until the bell rung. Although, out of the corner of her eye, she could see Eren glancing in her direction every now and then.
