Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mommies over there 🌺

A small house painted with pastel walls and minimalistic decor screamed being middle class but the status of the home couldn't depicher the loneliness that it carried with its whole being.

The house was one of Mehta's.

The groom side, Ms. Sahej Mehta, aka, Sana, the single child of Mr. Anuj Mehta, a professor in a named university, has done this only job of being a loyal government employee throughout his life and taught his daughter the same as well and being the ideal daughter in law she has religiously followed the footsteps of her father too. Henceforth, currently at the age of thirty she is employed in a government university too as a psychology lecturer.

"Someone is coming to see you today, come back home sooner, take a half day leave", Mr. Mehta told his daughter who sat at the dining table eating her breakfast in a jiffy.

Her diamond ring clad hands stopped at once, the very ring which couldn't turned into vermilion. She froze for a moment before gaining her composure back.

"Dad", she said meekly with her eyes filled with unsaid emotions.

Mr. Mehta sighed.

"Why do you want to get me embarrassed again and again?", she asked with a heartbreaking smile.

"Beta see", Mr. Mehta sighed and she looked away.

"I'm not getting any younger sweetheart, please try to understand me as well, I want you to have someone in your life whom you can look upto, after me", he said with a small sigh.

"Dad what do you think? I, don't want that?", she said shifting her gaze away and focusing it on the ground.

"But this isn't about what I want, it's about what they want", she further added with a sigh.

"It's a yes from there side only Sana, that's why I'm saying it to you", Mr. Mehta said holding her hand which was shivering.

"Do they know?", she asked gazing at him with a silent accusatory glance at him.

"Yes!", he agreed.

"Who are they?", she asked toying the omellete on her plate with the folk she held in between her fingers.

"He is a single father of two", Mr. Mehta said looking up at his daughter to gauze her reaction.

"And he just wants to get married for the sake of his children?", she asked in question  and he shook his head at her.

"Stop making assumptions, there is no problem in meeting him",he insisted.

"Dad, just... I don't know", she sighed.

"Sana there is something else as well, which I wanted you to know", he added hesitantly.

"Yes, go on what is it, tell me", she said assuringly.

"I got my checkup done yesterday and Dr. Sharma told me that heart risks are possible, not something to worry much about but not to be casual about it as well so I'm just informing you", he said with a shrug.
