Harriet was sat in her English class. The teacher wasn't even there, that's how bad this school was. Kids were blowing bubbles with their bubble gum, throwing papers around, sitting on the desks, drawing penis on the chalk boards. She sat at her one person desk drawing in her notebook when some kid sat in front of her, she looked up to see the person staring right at her.

"What?" She asked giving him the stink eye.

"Could I-" He went to say before she heard her name being called and looked up to see a woman poking her head in the classroom.

"Harriet Miller." She called.  Harriet stood up and walked out into the hall with the woman.

"It's just Harry." She told her.

"You're stepfather has been in an accident. Your mom's on her way here with your brother and sister. I'm so sorry, honey. He didn't make it." The woman told her as her jaw fell and the woman pulled her into a hug.

The woman in front of her let her out of the hug and walked away. Harriet turned and walked over at the casket looking down at her stepfather.

"Poor Amber Lynn. I know they had their problems with the divorce, but still, she must be devastated. Have you seen the new wife?" She heard two woman talking behind her as she pulled Austin, who was in a black tux that match her and Ginny's black dress, into her side as Ginny joined her other side putting her hand on her shoulder as they all looked down at him.

"Who shows that much cleavage at a funeral? Tacky." The woman shook her head as Harriet looked over at her then at Ginny. Ginny looked at her before pushing her and Austin forward. As they walked pass the woman Ginny purposefully bumped into the woman.

"Oh!" The woman said turning to them.

"Oops. Pardon me. I tripped." Ginny smiled cunningly at them before they scoffed and walked away.

They stopped as they heard their mother talking very loudly and 'sad'. They stood there watching her as she tricked all the people around her into thinking she actually cared, not the Harriet actually cared either, she never liked Kenny.

"Kenny was the best. The best. After being a single mother for so long, he was like a godsend. And he was wonderful with Virginia, Harriet, and Austin. He treated 'em like his very own. He was a generous angel, and I can't believe he's gone." Georgia continued even let out some fake tears.

Georgia, Ginny, Harriet, and Austin all drove along the highway singing along to the music. Actually Ginny was driving and Georgia and Austin were singing. Harriet sat by Austin scrolling through her phone.

"But she caught me on the counter." Georgia sang.

"It wasn't me." Austin sung after.

"Saw me banging on the sofa."

"It wasn't me."

I even had her in the shower."

"It wasn't me."

"She even caught me on camera."

"It was- Hey!" Austin said after Ginny turned the music off.

"I'm sorry. Do you think this song's appropriate for a nine-year-old or a newly fourteen-year-old in the back?" Ginny asked

"Oh, please. Harry can listen to whatever she wants. And he doesn't even understand any of it. Austin, what's this song about?" Georgia asked him.

"Doing it on the bathroom floor and getting caught and lying so you don't get in trouble." Austin explained as Georgia chuckled.
