1 PM, you're in your office and you're filling in a bundle of files. You were preparing to check out of work, until your chief nursing officer stopped by. She knocked on the door first, then twisted it open after hearing you say, "Come in."

"Hey Ms. Zenin, is there anything wrong?" You ask her. It was on rare occasions where you'd actually see her outside of her office, let alone in your own. It caught you by a little surprise from her unforeseen approach.

"Hey, Y/n," She exhales as she takes a seat on the vacant chair in your room, bringing it to your desk. "Actually, I've been meaning to speak with you."

"Sure thing," You say as you close your laptop, and give her your undivided attention. "What's up?"

She holds her own hands and places them on the surface of the desk.

"So, actually—my director and I have been observing the assistants of this hospital closely recently, and we've noticed your exceptional performance in particular. We've wrote it down on a document," She opens her laptop and clicks on a page. "All the characteristics we appreciate from you and stuff. Essentially what I'm saying is, we'd love to invite you to become an official nurse rather than an assistant. We truly believe your work ethics is a quintessential, and a great addition to the field. So, what do you say?"

You could feel your lower jaw parting from your upper lip as each word left her mouth. A promotion was the last thing you have been expecting this week.

But you were going to accept the offer. You were in disbelief but you were going to accept it.

"Thank you, Ms. Zenin wow..." You place a hand on your cheek. "Really, I thank you so much. I'll accept the offer."

She smiles and closes her laptop. "I'm glad to hear that. We can't wait to see your unique traits be put in to use."

She exits your office soon after. After checking out of work you felt absolutely on top of the world. That energy didn't rub off of you even when you picked Salem up from school, because she could visibly see the vigorous demeanor you had on yourself.

"Why are you so happy today mommy?" She asks you. You laugh. "Mommy's happy because she got promoted!"

"Mommy got promoted?" She repeats, pronouncing 'promoted' incorrectly. She had no clue in the world what it meant.

"Never mind," You say with an exhale. "But just know that it's a good thing."

Salem smiles. "Well if it's good then I'm happy."

Salem notices the unusual course of route you were taking on the road and mentiond it. "Where are we going?"

"We're going to Aunt Sia's house today. You'll be staying there for a few hours."

"Aunt Sia's house?"

"Yeah! You'll have fun."

"Okay, but please don't leave me for a day like you did last time."

"I promise I won't, honey. You don't have to worry. I'll pick you up before nightfall."

She smiles. "Okay."

"Thank you Sia, I promise I'll only be out for a maximum of 3 hours. Thank you again."

"It better not end up like last time." She says, her arms crossed and a hesitant look on her face.

"It won't, trust me." You reassure to her. "Bye!"
