It was weird to return to Ord Mantell after so many weeks. The planet's surface was originally clean, but now it is littered with venators, fighters, and bombers, all of whom were resentful. This revealed the planet's defensive capabilities as well as the effects of each conflict. After passing through the dead zone and debree field, the "Warlord" came across the planet's defence fleet.
Under Merai's leadership, the defence fleet blockade was led by a Lucrehulk. Merai was a skilled, respected, and highly decorated commander from the Quarren War, and he was able to hold this crucial position inside both the Separatist Alliance and the Brotherhood. It was astounding how well each ship was utilised; even Kalani and Knave could attest to this.
We were able to pass after receiving the necessary clearance, and Merai himself informed me that I had been directed to meet with my deputy director, Sakura Namada, and my agents, who were in an ideal position to continue providing me with information via holo about both sides' current state of the war.
Together with Vexar Mor and my guards, I boarded a shuttle, and we took out for the surface, landing at Ord Mantell's hangar bay's landing pad. I was told in advance that the Deputy Director would be present to greet me when the pilots alerted us to our approaching landing zone.
My guards led me out of the shuttle together with Vexar Mor, who was behind me, as it touched down and opened its doors. "Welcome home, my Lord. It seems like you have been banged up. Going out of style?" My guards weren't sure if they should threaten her, but I thought it amusing that she was joking sarcastically to lighten the scene.
"Banged up isn't a word I would use to describe myself in my previous situation, Director Namada, but I appreciate the compliment." After giving her a sarcastic reply in return to make her snicker, I got right back to work. "But now is no time like the present; we must begin our meeting and bring our head researcher and scientist. To turn the tide of the war, we are requiring a technological advantage."
As she gave her permission, led the way, and we entered our intelligence outpost's command centre, we walked by innumerable employees who were listening to Republic conversation. Whispers sprang out amongst the shocked brotherhood intelligence officers as I walked past, seeing me with my guards and Vexar Mor making my way to the meeting area.
I went into a room and told Kaydron to keep an eye on things and ensure that no one entered this area at all. The Deputy Director shut the blast door and ensured we were heard by turning off all of the cameras in the room and activating an ion field, while two guards stayed with Kaydron.
The table was long and wide, so I took a seat in the middle, motioned to Director Namada to start, and linked to the rest of my agents. We could start this meeting as soon as every agent connected to this secret channel and Kaydron, my guard, led the head scientist and his assistant into the room.
As each agent wore their own hood to hide their identity and scrambled their own voice to ensure their secrecy, we began our meeting.
"Gentlemen I believe we all know the reasoning behind why I called this meeting. Share with me the status of the war and the current predicament of the Senate."
As the first individual began. "My Lord, the Jedi have been more vigilant following your previous encounter with Padme Amidala. They have forbidden her from going on solo missions and have assigned Jedi and Commander Thorn to accompany her on any diplomatic missions."
