Sans had decided around three months ago to move to New Ebbot, a city several hours away from where he had been living. He had really only stayed in New Home because he thought his brother needed him, but now his brother had moved in with his datemate and had a good job, so he decided to move. He started looking for a job and a place to live. He found a house that was up to rent, but he couldn't afford it alone, so he started looking for roommates. He got lucky, and found three other people looking for roommates.

Blue had lived in New Ebott most of his life and had decided to move out of his brother's house after his brother started dating. Sans had contacted Blue online and showed him the house he had found. Blue worked at a taco shop part time and also helped as a crossing guard at a nearby school. Together though, they still would have trouble affording to pay for rent and food, so they looked for another roommate.

Then, they found Dance, who worked as an IT, and was looking to move to Ebbot to get more work. At the same time, they found Candy, who wanted to open a candy store in Ebbot at some point, but currently worked at a convenience store. They contacted both and both wanted to move in, so they all agreed to move in together to help spread out the rent.

Now, they were all moving in and found out an issue. They all had some furniture and different tastes in colors. Candy liked green and pink, Sans liked blues, whites, and grays, Dance liked dark blues, and Blue liked lighter blues. In the end, they went with mostly blue furniture with some green as a compromise. Candy was upset about not getting any pink, so he put pink pillows on the couch.

After a week, they started getting into a schedule. Blue went to work early and often cooked breakfast. Dance mostly worked from home, Candy left at nine to work at a nearby convenience store, and Sans left at twelve to work at a tech shop. Sans had got the tech shop job thanks to Dance finding out he was decent at tech and telling him.

"Don't you get lonely at home?" Asked Blue to Dance. "What do you mean?" Asked Dance. "Well, you don't really see anyone for most of the day." Said Blue. "Nah, not really." Said Dance. "Well, if it bothers you, maybe we can get a pet or something." Said Candy. "That's a magnificent idea!" Said Blue. "What?" Said Candy. "We are allowed to have pets and we could all help take care of it." Said Blue. "No dogs, they're to loud and need to be walked and we have work." Said Dance. "We could get a fish?" Suggested Sans. "They don't do anything," Blue said with a pout. "Hamster?" Said Dance. "No rodents," said Candy. "What about a cat?" Said Sans. "That could work," said Blue. "What about the litter box?" Said Candy. "They make self cleaning ones." Said Dance. They all decided to go to a shelter to look at cats next week.
