All rights go to ABC Family. Hope you guys enjoy!

Cameron watched Kirsten as she slept. The unending scowl that had been on her face had disappeared now that she was sleeping. Instead, there was a look of almost peace on her face.

It hadn't taken much to figure out he liked her. It was odd though. She had presented herself as a cold, dark-hearted person who didn't feel emotion. He just kept hoping he was right, and that beneath that, there was a girl who could really like a nerdy guy who was into Doctor Who.

Slowly, he settled in next to her, as far from her as he could get in the bed. He tried to keep telling himself that his wanting to be closer to her was just because she was new and different and a girl. That's all. Definitely.

He was just a work in progress.

Cameron watched Kirsten as she spoke with Scott. The residual emotion she had after the stitches was just so strange. She was way worse than Marta ever was. Then again, Marta's strength was protective instinct. He never saw her let her guard down, not even to residual emotion. Kirsten, however, didn't fight it, if she even could.

As much as he hated seeing her effected like this, knowing she would return back to normal in a few hours, it wasn't his only problem with the residual emotion. He hated to admit it, but he got a little jealous watching Kirsten talking with Scott. The look in her eyes as she talked to him, the tone of her voice was one he had only seen after her first stitch. If he tried, he could still bring up that kiss, the way her lips felt on his. It was amazing how much he wished she would do that again.

Preferably without the fainting, and it would be nice if she knew she was kissing him, not someone else.

Of course, it was a work in progress.

He didn't even know her name. Tank-top girl, as she was called, thought he was Robbie. The dead guy who lived in his old apartment who happened to be a good guy who bought tank-top girl groceries because her fridge was empty. His thoughts wandered to where Kirsten was, in his bedroom. It wasn't good that he was kind of attracted to tank-top girl.

You like Kirsten.

You like Kirsten.

You like Kirsten.

Kirsten doesn't like you.

Cameron sighed. He really saw no reason to chase after Kirsten. She wasn't cold and she wasn't dark-hearted. But she wasn't loving either, and it was time for him to learn that.

For now, it was a work in progress.

Picking out a shirt, Cameron turned around. For a second he kept his head down. If he had just kept it down longer.

Because when his head snapped up, Kirsten was there. Honestly he wasn't that embarrassed about being caught in a towel. It wasn't the best thing to be caught in, but at it was better than having nothing on at all.

At first he didn't think about it. Until her eyes went down. He looked down at the scar he had hid from her.

 No more secrets.

He had promised her that, and now this. He walked over to where the door was and closed it. He waited a second before moving again. When he was sure Kirsten was gone, he sighed. There was no way she would love him now.

But maybe, just maybe, it was still a work in progress.

Yay! I had to stop a couple times while writing this and just CRY MY HEART OUT because of the absolute Camsten feels I got while writing this. In a way I think it's kind of sad, because Cameron is just convinced that Kirsten can't love him. . . But it's also really sweet because he keeps looking for the best in her, which I think is a good relation to what is happening on the show. Thanks for reading!
