Hey guys, this one might get a little heavy but I promise it'll have a (somewhat) happy ending! Having said that, please mind the tags and if you think this might be too triggering for you feel free to not continue. 💛💚💜💙

Felix is slipping. He knows he is. And the others have started to notice. The problem is that he doesn't know how to fix himself. He's drained; physically and mentally exhausted. It hasn't been this bad since Stray Kids first debuted. And at least then he had Hyunjin to rely on. Now he's all alone.

Except he's not. Felix knows he's not alone. He knows that Hyunjin is still there for him. So is Minho, Jisung, Chan, Changbin, Seungmin, and Jeongin. They're with him at rehearsals and performances. They're just a phone call or text message away when he's at home. So he doesn't understand why he feels so isolated. So... lonely.

The problems started with the death threats. Some antis had decided that he and his boyfriend were a little too close and touchy with each other. It hadn't been a problem initially! He and Hyunjin had always been clingy with each other, even before debut and before they'd started going out. It was their thing. Felix's love language was physical touch, sue him! They'd been like this for five years before the death threats got a little too real. Hate mail had always been a thing, but now they were getting things sent to their houses. People would follow them at fan signings and hurl the most obscene and hurtful things at them, even wishing they would die. And then in July a crazy fan had tried to blind them with a laser. JYP had had enough. It was too dangerous.

So Felix and Hyunjin were forbidden from being close anymore. No cuddling, no hugging, no hand holding, no finger touching. They couldn't sit together anymore. They couldn't eat together anymore. Hell, outside of preexisting performance numbers they couldn't even dance together anymore! Felix had never realized before just how much he relied on Hyunjin until he couldn't. And even though they were taking these precautions, even though he couldn't do more than FaceTime his boyfriend, the threats were still coming. It hadn't really helped anything at all. Actually, it seemed to make things worse if the outcry from their shippers was anything to go by.

"Felix left Hyunjin for Changbin's muscles. What a skank!"

"Felix and Hyunjin must hate each other now, guess Lee Know has a chance now that Felix is out of the picture."

"I've been a Hyunlixer since predebut, don't tell me that something didn't go down. Just look at how pissed Hyunjin is in their recent lives. Wonder if Felix cheated on him?" On and on the comments went. Felix was still reporting his hate mail and death threats to his manager (who'd admittedly told him to stay off of social media) but he now found himself in a rabbit hole of disparaging words and filth flung at his expense. The anxiety was eating him alive, and the two or three times a day he got to talk to Hyunjin, to reassure himself that they were fine and he wasn't going crazy, were getting harder to maintain as they got closer to their tour.

Han had noticed his anxiety first.

Normally, his sunshine twin was the only one with a bouncy leg. It was his way of releasing pent-up nervous energy (that and having sex with Minho but Felix didn't know nearly as much about that and wasn't about to ask). Felix had spent all of last night and half the morning reading through comments on their Instagram and TikTok feeds. He felt like shit. Both because of the lack of sleep and the comments. It had been months since he and Hyunjin had had to separate in public, but nothing was working. It wasn't getting better. And then today, on their live, he'd managed to sit next to his boyfriend for once. He was relieved to have Hyunjin sitting there next to him. Arm dropped behind his back (where it belonged) and his head rested on Felix's shoulder carelessly. The room felt lighter and Felix felt himself actually smile for the first time in ages. Until the managers had given them the signal that they needed to separate. He felt the smile he'd finally gotten back (the genuine one and not the fake he'd learned to perfect) fall from his face as his boyfriend pulled away from him. He didn't really acknowledge anything else going on around him for the rest of the talk, moving mechanically after the live was done and they were shuttled off to the vans for the next gig. He was in the back seat with Jisung; Chan and Seungmin in the row ahead of them while Changbin, Jeongin, and Minho were ushered into the van behind them.
