Something was wrong with the Miko.

It had been a normal day traveling the borders of the western lands when Sesshomaru sensed something... off. Using his jaki, he scanned the area, and the flare of familiar riki brushed against his senses. But it felt wrong.

Normally, her riki flowed smoothly, like gentle waves on the shoreline. But what he felt then was chaotic and without control. He could also sense the Mikos kit along with his half-brother, the taijiya, and the houishi. There didn't seem to be any hostile entities near them, so the wild outpouring of holy energy made no sense.

It didn't take long for Sesshomaru to decide to investigate the cause of the Mikos distress, and within an hour, he and his group had met up with the inutachi. And what Sesshomaru observed had him seeing red.

Kagome groaned in agony as another shiver raked through her body. The entire day had been pure torture for the futuristic miko. It started out normal enough. Inuyasha rudely woke her up at the crack of dawn & demanded her to make breakfast with his usual grumpy attitude.

After everyone had eaten, camp was broken down, and they had set off toward the north where Kagome could feel a tainted jewel shard.

It was only a few hours after that that they were attacked by a swarm of giant angry hachi yokai. Apparently, they had traveled too close to their nest, and the hachi yokai took offense to that. And though they had ultimately won the battle, Kagome didn't leave it unscathed.

One of the bees had managed to sting her, and the side effects were proving to be more than she could handle. Liquid fire ran through her veins in the form of venom, causing an unimaginable pain to radiate throughout every pore on her body.

At some point, the pain became too much, and Kagome lost consciousness, leaving Sango to worry over her while Miroku prepared medicine and Inuyasha complained.

It seemed Kagomes injury was somehow inconvenient for the inuhanyu, and he was going out of his way to make everyone just as miserable as he was. Shippo was beside himself, wiping the sweat from his surrogate mother's brow, being as helpful as he could.

Sango was too busy setting up bedding for the sick miko to pay her irate "leader" any attention. But Miroku was growing frustrated with his friends ranting. Kagome was injured. It's not like she was just being lazy and stalling their quest for the fun of it.

It was unfair of Inuyasha to berate an unconscious woman, but just as he was ready to open his mouth and scold his friend, an overwhelmingly strong and extremely agitated aura washed over them, causing his riki to pulse in warning.

Inuyasha wasted no time in unseething his sword and taking a defensive stance. As Miroku stood to do the same, a familiar vision of white entered the scene.

Sesshomaru had arrived, and he looked absolutely furious.

"What the hell do you want?" Eloquent as always, Inuyasha jumped right into confrontational mode.

Flipping his hair over his shoulder with a look of disdain on his face, Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes. His entourage stoppee a few yards behind him, waiting to see what type of visit this would be. Based on Sesshomar's emotional state, Miroku guessed it was to be an unpleasant one. "You trespass on This Ones lands, and have the audacity to question him?"

Eyes widening, Inuyasha tensed in worry. Last he'd known, they were in Kogas territory, and the whimpy wolf didn't care if they were there at all. He hadn't heard that his brother had expanded his territories, and with the animosity between them, it wasn't a good idea to linger in the west. It never ended well for him.
