,,I have a daughter." he says.
Oh, phew. I thought he was going to do the Ted Mosby move and tell me he loved me. Because I really wouldn't have had an answer to that. Yes, I had a crush on Hayden in my teenage phase, but loving is something completely different, and I don't want to rush anything.
So I smile and gently squeeze his hand. "No matter what happens between us, Hayden. Your daughter will always be the first priority in your life, I understand that. If I had a child too, it would be my first priority too." I say.
He nods, smiling.
We stayed until closing time. Neither of us noticed the time until one of the waiters came over and said they would be closing soon.
Now we're both standing in front of April's house. Unsure how to say goodbye, I tug at my small handbag. Hayden is still much taller than me, despite my high heels.
He leans down, I feel his warm breath on my mouth, he's so close that they're almost touching. Mouth to mouth he says, "I'll regret it if I don't kiss you."
,,Then kiss me." I whisper.
His mouth presses gently against my mouth. He nudges my lower lip with his tongue. I slowly open my lower lip, his tongue is warm and explores mine. He pulls me closer to him from my waist, my hands are on his arm. We both snog. My lips pull away from his lips because I need air to breathe.
,,Wow." I whisper.
Hayden's hands are still on my waist. "I would really like to see you again."
,,Me too." I smile.
He smiles and leans down to me again and plants a kiss on my lips, lets go of my waist and gets into his car. I wave to him and open the front door.
,,Oh my God. You and Hayden Christensen made out." April calls out, suddenly standing in the hallway.
"Oh damn April you scared me." I say. "Have you been watching us?"
She nods. "I actually just wanted to take out the trash, then I opened the curtain a little and then I saw you guys making out." She wiggles her eyebrows. "Come on, tell me, is he a good kisser?"
I smile. ,,That's him."
She puts the trash in the hallway and runs into the living room.
"Didn't you want to take out the trash?" I ask and run after her.
"Oh, that can wait." she says. "Come on, tell me everything about the date."
I sit with her on the couch and tell her everything down to the smallest detail. I also tell her about my doubts.
"Listen to Jersey. You can't miss an opportunity. You shouldn't be afraid of getting into a relationship because of Chris. Not every man is like Chris. Hayden might be different than him." she says. "You'll never know if you don't get involved."
April is not wrong, even if I wanted to take it slowly, I just can't throw the opportunity away like that, I have to seize it.
,,You're right." I say.
,,I know." she laughs.
