"Kiko, I've told you a thousand times to PLEASE wipe the floor once you're done with the bathroom-" Usagi lectures. He could go on and on about every little detail that's wrong with the world and still have the breath to fight off a monster. I roll my eyes, biting into some toast our mother had prepared earlier. I tried to muff his yapping through my chewing. I stared blankly at him, hoping he'd understand I don't give a fuck.

"-And I don't understand why you wear a human cloaking device to a YOKAI academy."

I huffed, fuck he broke in. I swallowed my half chewed bite of toast wiping my mouth with my knuckles before replying harshly.

"And I don't know why you tie your ears back. How do you hear everything?" I was pretty proud of that remark. I see his ears flinching in its place, his eyes flared up as he crossed his arms, towel still hanging from his shoulder. Instead of arguing back, he closed his eyes and took a fresh breath of air, puffing the sweet release out to straighten his mind.

"My point is, be proud of who you are. You're a Yojimbo. The most noble family in the yokai world."

"And be associated as a playboy prick like you?" He groaned out a 'I give the fuck up' before turning around and slamming the door shut of the bathroom. I guess I won that fight. I did care about our reputation as a family. About our history. Our ancestors. But I wasn't one to hold my chin up high and mighty, I wanted to live that legacy humbly.

"Wow. Not even 8am and you guys are already arguing." A smooth low voice chirpped from behind me. I turn to face an olive green turtle in forest coloured uniform. He sported his signature blue bandana, a smug smirk on his face.

"I won, if you didn't hear. Also when were you allowed to sleep over on a school night?" I smirked at his crossing my arms. My knitted vest was covered in crumbs. Shit.

"Just turned 17 and already lady of the house huh?" He only chuckled and went on about his morning routine. I've known Leonardo since Usagi and I were only little bunnies. They became best friends as the years of training went by. His family only moved to Yokai Central only a few years back, feeling welcomed from every creature like their own.

I admired his honour and mannerisms. The way he composed himself to others and kept his cool. But I also resented him for how cocky he was. I shook my head and sat on the couch to wait for the others to be ready.
