Hey guys. It's the last day of Spring Break for me, and I wrote this really fast. I just really wanted to post something even though its not much. Its not exactly a fan fiction yet (actually, it isn't. I've made no mention of 1D)...but it will be. This is all I have for right now. And I know the title is crappy too. Like I said, I didn't spend too much time on this. But any title is better then no title I guess!

I don't know what to expect. I've never posted anything really (this isn't my first account xD) and I will post more since this story doesn't make much more sense right now.

A big thank you to everyone that fanned me. You guys are the best :)

Chapter 1

My hand touched the perfectly polished black casket. Inside of it is who was my best friend. My other hand went to wipe away a tear that ran out of my eye. God, it's so freaking weird to see her like this. Forever silenced, never getting the heck out of this town, like we always talked about. And now I was at her funeral. Carly and I were best friends. She had another best friend too, but he was never around anymore. We had always done everything together, and she was always a shoulder to cry on. And I was a shoulder for her too. She was gone. She was really gone.

*Flashback*

"So you're going to Carly's house?"

"Yeah mom."

We took a right turn and heard loud commotion. Police cars were everywhere. The ambulance was parked...right in front of Carly's house.

Holy crap.

My mom stopped the car and I bolted out, pushing my way past busy cops, neighbors, and ambulance people. I spotted Carly's mom talking to a police officer. She had obviously been crying, with red eyes and a worried expression on her face. Carly was still nowhere in sight. I skimmed the large crowd for her brown curls.

"Emma."

I whipped around to see Carly's older brother, Jacob, with concern in his eyes.

"Oh my gosh. Jacob! What's going on here?"

An ambulance truck fled the scene, it's loud sirens making my ears ring.

"Carly...she...she's dead."

I froze. Behind me, a stretcher with a black covering was being loaded into a huge van. A hand gripped my shoulder and I spun around. The police officer took out a pad of paper.

"Are you Emma Parker?"

I nodded.

"We would like to take you in for some questioning."

I zoned out. It finally sunk in. My best friend is dead.

*End of flashback*

I closed my eyes and thought back to when I first found out about her death. I'll never get used to this, I thought. Then, I heard something other then silent sobs around me, a car door slamming. A limo, to be exact. Someone unexpected stepped out of it.
