The Valley of Triumph (1) - Chapter 1

Sentinekka opens her eyes gently. Instantly, she remembers Ojtaro's words from the night before. They said goodbye, because they knew that that day was the last day they were going to see each other.

«Promise me that you won't get yourself into trouble and that you will accept any help that is offered to you» he said, hugging her tightly. «Just like Symphony, I will try to reach you on your fourteenth birthday in the Village of Dreams. You will find it» he added sweetly. For who knows how many minutes they remained attached to each other.

«And you have to promise me that you will never hurt anyone and that you will help the new ones as you did with me» the little girl said, looking at her friend's with white-pupiled eyes.

And, in chorus, the two promised.

Now there are only her and Orlando, accompanied by the snow that comes down and falls on the ground.

The traveling companion is sleeping. He is on the stone bench, he's resting peacefully. He looks quite adorable: his face is almost invisible because of his hair and the cloak that he used as a blanket.

They should continue the journey. Ojtaro would have said so. For this reason, Sentinekka does not hesitate to wake up Orlando as calmly and kindly as possible.

When the new friend sits on the bench, he stretches and greets her politely with a:«Good morning». The girl smiles and explains:«It's the right time to continue the journey. Are you alright with that?».

«Of course... Let's go» he replies, stretching again and standing up.

He looks around and realizes that Ojtaro is no longer there. He had forgotten that their guide had to go away.

Sentinekka looks at him confidently. «Together we will be able to move forward, don't worry!» she exclaims, convinced of her words. She holds out her hand to him, he takes it after some hesitation and lets her carry him around.

Suddenly, Orlando asks her:«Are you left-handed?».

She replies:«Oh yes».

«Me too, what a coincidence!» the boy exclaims, enthusiastically.

She rejoices. «Really? I didn't think I could find someone like me!».

The two Children go down the snow slope as fast as rockets.

And, over time, they realize that they are quite similar. After each descent Winged Lights mark their path, their feet in the snow and their speeches.

Finally, after entering and exiting a tunnel, the two friends find themselves in front of a precipice. They go very fast, but they have time to stop.

Sentinekka holds her friend's hand tightly. Nearly...! They were about to fall who knows where. Yet, she remembers the words...

«Just jump, you won't get hurt!».

Ojtaro had said those exact words to her and Symphony in the Isle of Dawn, during their first meeting.

«Let's jump» the girl announces, determined.

«Wait, what?» Orlando asks, scared.

«Let's jump!» she repeats.

Among the terrified exclamations and screams of her traveling companion, the girl sighs deeply and drags him down the cliff.

Below them is a floor made of ice and snow, on which they land without a scratch.

In the center, a snow and stone platform with pillars and small columns leads to two different paths that head in two equally different directions.

They can only go to one, the one without a Spirit Barrier. They have no idea of where the Spirits might be...

There's also a strange bench on the platform that's much wider than any she's ever seen with her little glowing green eyes.
