Lillian Black
MY LAST CLASS of the day was Care for Magical Creatures. We were learning how to properly take care of creatures, now that Hagrid had many classes under his belt.
"I serpose you'd remember these silly creatures, wouldn't yer Lily?" Hagrid asked. The class was in a paddock, the same one I met Buckbeak in years ago.
"I could never forget Beaky, Hagrid." I smiled at the group of Hippogriffs that were messing around in the paddock. Some looked like babies.
I outstretched my hand when one of them immediately walked up to me, rubbing its beak in my face, which I pet back.
"Alright, gather round, gather round." Hagrid called. He stood with his hands on his hips, towering above us all in the middle of the paddock.
"Yep. Yer lot will do just right." Hagrid said, taking a look at the the students in front of him. I looked around. It was a smaller class. I noticed Luna in the corner of the paddock, feeding one of the baby Hippogriffs a thick slab of some meat. I saw Hannah Abbott from Hufflepuff, and Neville Longbottom too.
"Are we riding them again?" I asked Hagrid. It was Harry and I who had been tossed onto Buckbeack's back in third year.
"No!" Shouted Dean Thomas, in protest, shaking his head.
"I hope we don't ride them, I think I'd get sick." Neville said.
"There'll be no ridin' em. They just need some lookin' after, is all." Hagrid flashed a smile, before tossing a dead ferret into the air. One of the Hippogriff's jumped up, flapping it wings, and caught the food.
Hagrid had us pulling some of the old feathers off the Hippogriffs backs, feeding them all, and even trying to get some of the young ones to fly. Hagrid eventually dismissed us, but I stayed back to help him carry some buckets of supplies back to his hut.
"You're into this stuff?" A voice asked beside me. I was bending down to pick up one of the small troughs, when I turned my head to see a boy I didn't know, his arms cockily crossed his chest.
"Cormac. McLaggen." The boy said, outstretching his hand for me to shake once I stood up. I shook it lightly.
"I plan to be a Magizoologist after school." I told him. He had dirty blonde, curly hair, and was wearing a Gryffindor tie.
"I didn't catch your name." He said.
"It's Lillian." I told him. He wasn't bad looking, and his confidence was kind of attractive.
"Are you a seventh year? How come I haven't seen you before?" He asked me.
"Sixth year." I said. He started to walk alongside me while I carried a few buckets in my arms to Hagrids.
"Here, let me." He said, taking one of the heavier buckets from me with ease.
"Thanks." I smiled at him. We dropped everything off to Hagrid, and started back up to the castle. By now, the sun was beginning to set and I was exhausted.
