"There will be approximately 30 days before the chaos." said a researcher. "The chance of survival is 1%, or we can say no hope at all. It can't even be considered as a reason to gamble on it." she said with a worried face.
"Ridiculous. How can we didn't predict this before? The chance for we to survive could be higher. Is there any other options to face this chaos?" said the chief.
"Of course, there are a few options Sir."
"Go ahead, please tell the red line about the options."
The secretary went up from her seat. Everyone's focus on her speech. Then, she started to explain.
"First option is coming from the Space Research & Development Section. The whole plan maybe has been heard as a child story, but there are some probability of success. The main point is we move to the Mars and make a living there."
"If we have more time, it will be a great idea. Unfortunately, we don't have time. Next option?"
"Well, the second one is blow away that meteorite that will be collided with earth in 30 days."
"Oh gosh. Let me guess, it came from the military?" the chief said with obvious frustation.
"Yes Sir. I don't think it's a good option either."
"Ok, next one please."
"Third one is we can make nuclear bunkers in every city. There's some chance it could survive the collision's effect."
"Chance of success?"
"5% Sir" the secretary said with a voice a bit louder than a whisper
"Is that all?" the chief looked like he has just lost 15 years of his life.
"Yes.. Oh wait, there is another option Sir, coming from the Virtual Reality Development Section."
"Explain it, I hope this one is good enough." said the chief. It was obvious that he is desperate and everyone knows why.
"Let me explain it Sir." Suddenly a man in the back of the room stood up.
"And who are you exactly?"
"I'm the head of Virtual Reality Development Section Sir. I can certainly explain it better than anyone else here."
"Ok, please explain it in detail"
"Thank you Sir. As we already know, VR has been developed rapidly past few months. We already made our way into making a virtual world that was only a dream few years ago. Not only that, we can transfer our mind conciousness into the VR world. However, we can't transfer anything physical into virtual."
"Then how can it solve this problem?" Everyone in the room now paying their full attention to the speech. No one make any noise. The room was getting serious and intense.
"We aren't solving Sir. It was simply luring time. The concept was the same as we sleep. We sleep for example 10 hours. However, it didn't feel like 10 hours right? It felt like a couple minutes. So it's possible to make the reverse, we can make 1 hour into an entire day or week."
"This is certainly interesting. How long can you lure the time? An hour into a day? Week?"
"Our technology right now can make an hour in reality into a day in the virtual world. We can make 30 days into 2 years."
"2 years isn't long enough. Is there any way to make it longer?"
"No sir, we can't. However in these 30 days, we can try to complete the 'Existence Transfer' Project. Essentialy we move someone's conciousness permanently to the virtual world. However, with the current state, the chance of success is only 30%."
"Sounds promising enough. However it seems like you avoid to mention something. What kind of world we would be transfered to?"
"That's one of the downpoint Sir. There is no "safe" virtual world which is equal in size compared to earth. The only option we have is 'The world of Mist and Eternal Ice', Nilfheim."
