Straight as Guitar Strings

𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟮 [𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵]

HE looked at me, eyes filled with anticipation. "No, what I'm trying to say is, sing a song just for me. Any song, as long as it's for me. Is that okay?"

He's doing it again! That irresistible look on his adorable little face!

"Especially for you? Like that?" I asked, feeling a slight thrill from his intense gaze.

"For my ears only, just like that." He smiled at me, as if he would be the luckiest guy on earth if I granted his request.

"You know a lot of things, Leo." I rolled my eyes, but deep inside, I couldn't even begin to describe the warmth spreading through me.

He clasped his hands together, as if I were a god or genie capable of fulfilling his wishes. "Come on, what if today is my last day? Would you still hold back? Won't you grant my wish?"

"Hey, stop talking nonsense, you lunatic!" I slapped his arm and pinched him.

"Ouch! Please, baby?" He shook me gently, continuing to guilt-trip me. Damn, he's cute! I was going to give in anyway. He just couldn't wait.

"Fine, give it here..." I took the guitar from him, and he handed it over eagerly.

When I looked at him after thinking of a song to sing, his face was like that of a child at a birthday party, waiting for the clown to perform magic tricks.

I smiled at his expression, and the longer I looked, the clearer he became in my eyes. The lines and features of his face stood out—he was incredibly handsome.

"It's you, it's always you~"

I didn't even realize my fingers had started strumming the guitar strings on their own.

"If I'm ever gonna fall in love, I know it's gonna be you~"

I smiled as I sang that part, because my heart knew, it was really him. He was the one.

"Met a lot of people, but nobody feels like you~"

I continued singing, my eyes no longer focused on my guitar but on Leo, who held my gaze steadily.

"So please don't break my heart, don't tear me apart~"

I saw his lips move, mouthing the words, "I won't."

"I know how it starts, trust me, I've been broken before~"

Each line felt like it was piercing his heart, just as I hoped he would feel.

"Don't break me again, I am delicate~"

Especially this part, which was absolutely true. I felt incredibly delicate when it came to him. If he broke my heart, I would be utterly devastated.

The song flowed smoothly, and I didn't realize I had finished until Leo started clapping. He quickly closed the small distance between us, granting my thirsty lips a warm, wet kiss.

Damn, that kiss was beyond measure!

As I uploaded the video and typed the caption, my stomach growled loudly.

Leo noticed immediately. "You hungry, baby?"

"Yeah," I nodded, unable to look at him as I was almost done.

"Shall we make the salad now?" he asked, while I kept my eyes on my phone's screen.

"Sure, baby." I hit the upload button, letting our first recorded song post.
