You groggily sat up...even though you've already been up for hours, and your alarm clock didn't know. that. It was very hard to sleep last night. Your boyfriend broke up with you a few days ago, then you got fired from your job, so you stayed up late while under tremendous amounts of stress on what to do now. "I should look at the newspaper or something for jobs..."

You mumbled to yourself as you stood up from the bed, tripping over a pile of dirty clothes and landing on your face. You laid there for a few moments, now realizing that you need a soda or something to wake up more before you'll be able to do anything productive. After taking an extra minute to pull yourself together, you stood up and grabbed a soda you had on the nightstand from the day before, popping it open with a quiet sigh.

"That hits the spot.." You grumbled after drinking almost half of it, not realizing how croaky your voice sounded. Something shiny on the nightstand caught your eye and you looked at it, a frown on your face as you saw the gold pendant that your EX had given you before the breakup.

After a moment of staring at it, you scrunched up your face with quiet rage and grabbed the pendant, throwing it onto the floor with as much strength as you could muster. Oh... The pendant shattered into a million pieces and the sound it had made when it did surprised you, making you jump. Your movement caused a sharp pain to strike through your foot.

You gasped and fell backward onto the floor, dropping your soda and spilling it in the process. He looked at your foot and found that a shard of the pendant had gotten stuck in it, causing you pain. Your expression became annoyed as you pulled out the glass, standing up and putting on your socks and shoes, ignoring your injury. You really needed a breather.

You didn't bother to change your clothes since you slept in the ones you wore yesterday but you did grab your (Fav Color) hoodie. You opened the front door of your small apartment, looking out at the bustling city that had been built around Mount Ebott.

You walked unsteadily past many stores and houses, even a library which only had books about the war that you had believed never happened. C'mon, monsters fighting humans? What a joke. Those stupid fairy tales kept people from going near Mount Ebott, which was where the monsters were supposedly sealed away.

That never stopped you though, You had been going there since you were a kid. One time one of your only friends fell into its opening. What was their name again? Oh well. What's it matter anyway.

Your thoughts were so empty yet full at the same time as you walked up the well-used trail you made to the top of Mt. Ebott, the one quiet place you had walked to over the years. One thing you found interesting was how the higher you climbed, the more buttercups there were, scattered around the moist grass.

Finally, after a good hour or so, you arrived at the dark cave at the top. It had the softest grass around the area. You had always wondered what was inside the cave. Probably just dirt or something like that, nothing special. As you sat down not too far from the mysterious pitch-black tunnel, you realized how your foot stung with pain. It seems you might have forgotten to actually bandage your wound.

You put your hands behind you to support you as you looked at the sky through the trees that swayed in the light breeze. The buttercups were blooming, the robins were singing, and the clouds were white and fluffy like snow. You leaned back and closed your eyes taking in a deep breath. Wait-

Nothing was behind you to stop you from falling back, your hands slipped under you and your head hit a rock. Painfully, you stood up not realizing the gaping trench behind you. You rubbed your head where you had hit it and looked at your fingers. Oh boy blood, lovely. You looked around where you were "Is this the inside of the-" Loose dirt and rock caused you to collapse into dark nothingness. Wait nothing that means...
