DID you know that feeling anxious even before expressing your feelings to someone is normal? I'll lose my mind if I don't tell her what I feel about her.

"You've been restless for a while now, Lloyd, what's going on?" Elmar asked as he glanced at me from the driver’s seat. I furrowed my brows because even I didn’t know how to explain it.

I've only known her for a few months, but that was enough time for me to realize how kind she truly is. Every small act, every smile, made something in me shift.

"I like her. I don't know if it's just a crush or if I really love her," I finally admitted, my eyes gazing out the carriage window.

"I've never heard you say that before," Elmar chuckled, shaking his head at me. "You know, many guys secretly like her, but none of them dare to court her because they all think it's better if she ends up with you."

"Why do you think it's better if she ends up with me?" I asked, puzzled.

"I'm not oblivious, Lloyd. I see the way you look at her. I know you're not perfect, but I want you to take care of her someday, bro."

"Do you like her?" I asked directly, needing honesty.

"Yes."

A simple answer. Yet it made me smile. This guy never lies. Never did, never will.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when my phone suddenly rang. It rarely does unless it’s something important.

"Who's this?" I answered without checking the caller ID. I’m not the type to waste time checking; it’s annoying.

"Tomorrow's fight was suddenly announced by the secretary of the Dean lister. Justin also informed me. The idiot had to run back to the dorm because he had diarrhea, but at least he got the intel," James quickly informed me.

"How did this happen? I thought it was supposed to be the day after tomorrow. We haven’t even secured the guns we need yet," I said, furrowing my brows.

"We won’t need the guns anymore since the fight’s happening in the gym. Back then, they used to organize singing contests for freshmen, but now it’s different. That’s the vibe I’m getting," James explained.

He hung up after giving the update. I turned to Elmar.

"We need to head to the school now," I told him firmly. We had to find out what’s really going on.

"I don’t even know why this is happening at our university," I murmured, feeling frustrated. I couldn’t help but blame myself.

Within seconds, Elmar floored the gas and drove fast—so fast it felt like we were about to take off.

"What happened? Why did chaos break out?" Elmar asked me, equally confused.

I didn’t know either. But a passing student caught my attention. I tapped him on the shoulder.

"What happened? Why is everything in chaos?"

"A big fight’s coming to our university in the next few days. From what I know, it’s related to someone who stole the school title," the student replied.
