~Trolls and Broken Wings~

We had been riding for most of the day now. Unfortunately, it started raining shortly after we packed up our previous campsite. To say that I was miserable would be an understatement. I wasn't a big fan of rain. I don't hate it. I just don't like it. It made my wings soggy, so I couldn't fly. Luckily, that wasn't a problem now considering that I was hiding my true identity from the company and my wings were safely hidden away.

Everyone in the company was miserable. They kept complaining about the rain. It was becoming quite repetitive.

After awhile, I was ready to smack the next dwarf that complained about this godforsaken rain. It was a this moment that Dori decided to speak up.

"Here, Mr. Gandalf, can't you do something about this deluge?" He asked.

Gandalf turned a little from his place towards the front to look back at Dori. "It is raining, Master Dwarf, and it will continue to rain until the rain is done. If you wish to change the weather of the world, you should find yourself another wizard." Gandalf said, turning to face forward again.

"Are there any?" Bilbo asked.

"What?" Gandalf said, looking down at the hobbit next to him.

"Other wizards?" Bilbo replied curiously.

"There are five of us. The greatest of our order is Saruman, the White." Gandalf said.

I shuddered at the mention of Saruman. He was my least favorite wizard. There was something dark about him. His mind was weak.

I shook my head and turned my attention back to Gandalf as he continued.

"Then there are the two blue wizards; you know, I've quite forgotten their names." Gandalf said, chuckling a little.

"Their names are Alatar and Pallando." I said. I had crossed pathes with them a few times on my travels ythrough middle earth.

"Oh, yes! That's right. Thank you, my dear." Gandalf told me, nodding gratefully.

"And who is the fifth?" Bilbo asked.

"Well, that would be Radagast, the Brown." Gandalf replied.

"Is he a great Wizard or is he... more like you?" Bilbo asked, making me laugh.

Gandalf looked slightly offended. Before he could say anything, I came to his defense.

"Bilbo, you can just ask him that. Gandalf is a great Wizard." I said, causing both Bilbo and Gandalf to blush.

"And for your information, Radagast is a very great wizard, in his own way. He's a gentle soul who prefers the company of animals to others. He keeps a watchful eye over the vast forest lands to the East." I said.

I had spent a lot of time with Radagast over the years. He was a bit bonkers and needed a lesson in personal higene. But other than that, he was a great friend.

"Good thing too, for always Evil will look to find a foothold in this world." Gandalf added.

After that, the company was quiet for awhile. Everything seemed to cheer up when the rain stopped. We were all tired and ready to set up camp.

Thorin told everyone to stop by some burnt ruins of an old farmhouse. "We'll camp here for the night. Fili, Kili, look after the ponies. Make sure you stay with them." Thorin ordered.
