DESTINY

"Hello?" I said answering the phone confused. It's damn near 1 in the morning, why Is my mama calling me?

"Hey boo, how you doing?" She so casually asked as I heard crunching through the phone. Eating them damn old lady chips. I looked at the phone in confusion because my first instinct was to think something had happened over there.

"Umm.. I'm cool ma, everything cool with ya'll?" I asked her.

"Yeah me and ya daddy cool. We sittin up here watching these reruns of 'My 600lb Life". This nigga Dr. Now do not play that shit and they keep on playing with him." She replied laughing. I laughed along because they really be tryin to get down on that man like he ain't been through this with they ass plenty of times.

"HA! I'm already knowing. Tell daddy I said hey."

"HEY BABYGIRL, I LOVE YOU!" My daddy yelled in the background. She must've had me on speaker phone. I'm such a mama AND daddy's girl. AIN'T no way around it.

"I love you too daddy! And ma, why you callin so late, what's wrong?" I asked, usually her and my daddy would be sleep round this time, the hell they got goin on.

"Girl, it's bout 11 o'clock over here, you good. And girl, because I felt like it.. and I needed a late night snack too so.." she said pausing. "Lil girl, I know that music ain't that damn loud in that dorm room." She said clearly being nosey.

"No ma.. Nelli done brought me to this fraternity party that's all. I'm chillin tho." I replied back dryly.

"Oh, okay baby ya'll be safe and keep an eye on each other. I don't need nun of my babies disappearing on me." She said seriously.

"I gotchu ma, I'm finna meet back up with her in a minute, I was just talking to a... new friend." I said back to her reminiscing about our last conversation.

"Well I'm glad my baby making friends already, look at you, I told you you'll be fine, scary!" She said laughing a bit. Ehh I guess, hopefully.

"Yea I guess ma. But Ma, I'm about to leave out soon, so I'll text you when I get back at the room." I said back to her.

"Okay baby, we love you!" She said and I said it back before ending the call. As I looked around the party, my heart went back to beating fast as fuck. I looked behind myself, checking to see if Tyree maybe found his way back to me trying to talk but I didn't see anybody but drunk mu'fuckas and ass shaking. I'll rather see that right now to be honest. Truthfully, I couldn't face Tyree without getting nervous. His whole demeanor is lowkey intimidating, but keeps me more and more curious about him. It's as if he's trying real hard to figure me out but I'm not lettin up for real, I don't trust nan nigga. I literally don't wanna find myself attracted to that man because of my past. But for some reason, I couldn't get him out my head ever since our very first encounter at that park. I may need to get out more or something because there's no way I'm delusional about a man I don't even fully know like that. Ughh but that ain't nobody business, I do what I want. I'm just confused as to what I wanna do, take a chance to get to know him, or keep it pushing and focus on my school shit.

I t pulled my phone out to text Nelli and told her to meet me in front of the house where there were little to no crowd of people chilling and smoking. I decided to pull out my pre-roll blunt and smoke while waiting on Nelli to meet me out where I stood. She arrived about 5 minutes later with 2 buttons on her shirt unbuttoned and brown shiny lip gloss smudged all across her cheek. This nasty ass bitch... And I already know who she was with. This bitch also brought over 2 shot cups filled with what looked like some type of Whiskey and told me take that shit back. I ain't no bitch, so I did. Whew! Thats liquorrr! I did a lil shimmy to loosen up because goddamn, I definitely needed to.
