Klaus Mikaelson in his centuries of existence, didn't ever think that someone would find solace in him. But this one girl with bright red and black hair was someone who was proving him wrong, again and again.
Akane had fallen asleep on Klaus, her head on his shoulder, even breathing but the girl was clinging to him like a koala. and Klaus didn't have the heart to wake her up or disturb her sleep in any way. She was holding on to him for dear life, Klaus changed his position and leaned on the headboard. He ran his fingers through her hair, still damp, it smelled like flowers blooming, very subtle, yet very soothing.
At that moment, Klaus decided: he would ensure that Akane stayed by his side, no matter what.
Klaus took her hand in his and noticed a promise ring on her finger and by the look of it, she had not once removed it... Somehow that ring made him curious and a curious Klaus is never a good thing.
That's why he did the one thing for which Akane could try to kill him, or worse leave his side; he went through her memories.
Outskirts of New Orleans
In a run-down warehouse on the outskirts of New Orleans, Taeyang was supposed to meet with one of his informants who had recently gained information about Akane's father. he walked deeper into the warehouse, the usual spot where he met up with them. But all he came face to face was with the dead bodies of his people, hearts torn out with blood everywhere.
He had laid a trap, and Taeyang had willingly walked into it.
Taeyang felt a movement behind him. He turned to come face to face with the person he despised for his cold, dead heart, ironical when he was himself the vampire.
"I wish, I could say it is a pleasure to meet you again," He said mockingly.
"The feeling is mutual, Kang Daeho," said Taeyang with venom lacing his words.
Kang Daeho made a faux offended face at his comment.
"As much as I want to continue this conversation, I sadly can't; I have a long-lost daughter to get to after all"
"Over my dead body," Taeyang replies
"She is going to die anyway. Why are you trying to save her?" He thinks for a few moments and answers, "Because of Akari?"
"But you should know something, Taeyang. I am not going to kill her, not yet. But you are going to die today."
"I am well protected from your abilities, I have Akane's blood in my system, your powers are useless against me-" Taeyang replies confidently
"But you are deeply unaware of my powers-" Daeho walks closer to him, "you underestimated me, my dear friend," he says mockingly
Before Taeyang could even reply, or even attack Daeho, a wooden stake is stabbed into his heart from behind, his body slowly desiccating. He realized it was one of his informers who stabbed him, the human one with a gaping hole in his chest.
'Tricky bastard,' Taeyang thought to himself. He had just realized that these blood siphoners could control human corpses.
Daeho kicked at his corpse, satisfied. He walked out of the rundown warehouse, got in his car, and drove towards the city. While Akane was resting in the arms of the man whose mistake had brought her father to her.
