32. Avoiding Him

Inaya's POV

It's been almost a week since i started working here and i've tried my best to avoid him as much as i could.

Whenever he'd try to talk to me i'd act like i was busy or leave from there.

I know i'm stupid but i just don't have the courage to talk to him. After all the things i've said to him i can't even look at him without even feeling guilty.

But my heart aches. How weird it is that we've met after three whole years and i'm here avoiding him like this.

"You seem lost, what's wrong?" lily one of my colleagues asked bringing me back from my thoughts.

"Nothing.." i shook my head.

Besides everything, i really like working here. People here are so nice and supportive and very serious about their work. No wonder this company was on the top while i was applying.

It was lunch break and i was in the cafeteria with lily and other colleagues. They were chatting while i was just listening to them quietly.

As i'm still not that comfortable with them, i didn't take part in the conversation.

I was eating peacefully when suddenly someone else joined us and sat on the seat opposite of me.

I didn't paid much attention and continued eating but the other person started talking.

"Hi, myself jake and you?" i introduced myself and thought that he'll stop but he didn't.

He kept asking and telling and i didn't wanted to be rude so i just listened silently.

"By the way, is there something going on between you and the boss?" he asked out of nowhere and i almost choked on my food.

"W-what?" i asked with my widened eyes.

He pointed towards someone behind me, "From the way he's glaring at me i thought so."

I turned my head to look behind me only to see rayan shooting daggers at him. Adnan was sitting opposite to him constantly talking but all his attention was here.

He looked like as if he wanted to kill jake.

Then his eyes met me and he straightened in his seat, a little hope on his face but i turned back even if it hurted my own heart.

I could feel his burning gaze but i tried my best not to pay much attention to it.

"We're leaving what about you?" lily asked me as others were leaving.

But i still had some work left to complete so i stayed back for a few more hours. Almost everyone were gone and only i was left in our floor.

It was quite late but i didn't wanted to leave before completing my work.

After few more minutes later, finally it finished and i closed the monitor after saving the documents.

I checked the time and it was almost 9:30. I already informed ami that i'll be late today so she doesn't get worried about me.

I grabbed my bag and other stuff before walking towards the elevator. I pressed the button and waited for it to arrive.

But as soon as the doors opened, i got stuck to my place.

Rayan...

He looked up from his phone and his eyes also widened a little.

I stood frozen to my place not knowing what to do now.
