“What do you think?” I pull back the red velvet curtain that is separating me from layla, and take a step forward.
“Oh.My.God! That looks freaking amazing! You have to buy it!” Layla squealed
“Are you sure? It’s not really my usual style, and i-“
“You are buying it. No questions asked. Okay?!” she demanded
“Yes MUM” I rolled my eyes
“Good, DAUGHTER” She gave me a push back into the changing room “Now hurry up and take it off so you can buy it!” She grinned
“Alright, alright” I held my hands up in defeat “Be patient”
Layla huffed, but she refrained herself from saying anything else, and just sat down on the waiting chair with her arms crossed.
I giggled at her childish behaviour, and backed into the changing room. Once I had closed the curtains I turned to look at myself in the mirror. I have to admit, this dress really did look good. It’s goes to about mid-thigh, and has spaghetti straps. It has a range of different colours on it, but the blue really brings out the colour in my eyes. I stand there for a few more minutes, just taking in my appearance. I have large blue eyes, and long brown hair that falls to my waist in curls. I’m not too short, but I’m not too tall either, and my weight is normal, I’m not too skinny, but I’m certainly not fat. I supp-
“You done in there yet? Geez, I don’t have all day” Layla snorts from outside
“Right, sorry just had a bit of trouble getting the zip on the dress undone, I’ll be out in sec” I heard some shuffling outside, and a few people yelled out. I decided to ignore the noises, though, because it was most likely a shoplifter being chased or something. That happens a lot I this mall.
Layla must be going crazy with impatience by now, so I quickly shimmy out of the dress and throw my clothes back on.
“Kay, done!” I yell as I jump out of the changing room. “Layla?”
I look down the corridor that leads to the main part of the shop, and away from the changing rooms, but she isn’t there. In fact, no one is. The once buzzing shop, was now eerily quiet.
“Layla? Where are you? I’ve got the dress”
No answer.
I cautiously make my way down the long corridor, passing many empty stalls on the way.
“Layla, if this is a joke, it isn’t funny. Just come out already”
“You don’t find this funny?” A deep voice said from somewhere behind me “Because I find this hilarious”
What the hell? I spun around…and what I saw almost gave me a heart-attack…
