"Julia! Julia why are you doing this? Stop playing this game with me! Julia. Please don't hurt me." My throat aches more and more with every scream.

"Don't worry Riley." a sinister voice says right behind me.

Whipping my head around in time to dodge the knife, I plead, "Julia. This isn't like you. I know Julia, and whatever you are, isn't. Just please don't hurt me. Please don't kill me."

"Oh, sweet, little, stupid Riley. This is and has always been Julia. Now. Say goodnight Riley, because your light is about to go out."

With that Julia pushes me to the ground, pins me down and brings the knife downward, piercing my heart. Killing me instantly.

Gasping for air, I sit up. I was only a dream. Well, a really bad dream. A nightmare. That's all it was.

Julia's too innocent to do that. I hope. Wait, no she wouldn't to that. She's weak compared to me. I can take her down easily. I mean, she's always had a small and scrawny figure. Unless she somehow builds muscle, I'm stronger.

PUM POM PIM.

I look over at my phone. It reads: 4:17 A.M. Great. Now I won't be able to go back to sleep. Oh yeah, my phone went off because of a text message.

Who the hell would text me this early? Wait. Julia? Why would she text me? She's always asleep at this time.

Princess of Light: Hi Riley, I'm really sorry if I wake you up from this, but I had a horrible nightmare and I'm scared that it'll happen in real life.

Queen of Darkness: It's okay, want me to come over so we can talk about it? I just had a nightmare too.

Princess of Light: Yeah, that would amazing! And OMG that is one weird coincidence huh?

Queen of Darkness: Yes it is very weird O_o I'll be there in five minutes.

Princess of Light: Okie Dokie! Lol.

I put down my phone and search through my closet as quiet and as fast as I possibly can. I grab my phone and bring a stool to the window and open it.

I climb out and close it enough so that it's not suspicious, but also enough to open from the outside.

My room is in the basement because my mom wanted to put all of her shoes, jewellery, and clothes into another room. I like the basement though, so I guess it worked out well in the end for both my mom and I.

I walk to the field across from my house and find the one single house with their back light on. Julia's signal to me.

Even if there was no light, I could easily find her house because of the many, many times I've been there.

I climb over their fence that's roughly five feet tall and land on my feet.

I climb up the side of their house with the ladder that Julia has hanging from her room.

I pull myself into her room and sit on her bed, waiting for her to tell me her nightmare.

She's just sitting on the edge of her bed, staring at her hands resting on her lap. I know this is serious. She's always happy and bubbly.

I pick her up bridal style and sit her on her pillows. I can easily pick her up because she's about a hundred and five pounds and as I said before, she has a small frame.

She's in a silk nightgown that's a
little to small for her, so I can see her underwear. I avert my eyes so it doesn't seem weird.

She thinks that I have a crush on her because I'm pansexual, but in reality, I don't. I've told her thousands of times that I don't like her, but she still thinks I'm lying.

"J-Julia? D-do you want to talk about your nightmare?" When I say this tears spill almost instantaneously from her eyes.

I quickly wrap my arms around her and pull her into my embrace and try to comfort her when I see this.

She never cries unless someone dies or she gets hurt. She silently sobs and I let her cry. This isn't good. She's never cried this much.

"H-Hey, Julia. I-It's okay. Come on. I-I'm here for you to talk to. N-Now tell. What happened in your n-nightmare?"

She slowly calms down and she says, "I was in a wooden box that was on fire. Then swords came and pierced my body all over. I heard this voice laughing and saying that I deserved this."

"J-Julia. L-Look at me." She looks at me with pure sadness in her eyes, her usual twinkle of happiness gone. "It's not your f-fault for Jacob breaking up with you. He is a dick, jerk, scumbag. And any other words that can describe him. Y-You're perfect."

"But I'm still scared of that voice. It sounds really familiar."

"Remember that your mind can t-take the voice or image of someone close to you, and make them evil or even a m-monster."

"Okay Riley. I'll remember that and calm down."

I stand up and start walking to the window. "I have to go now J-Julia."

"Wait!"

When I turn around, I'm ambushed by Julia hugging me. Surprised by this, I stumble back into Julia's dresser.

"Shit. Your p-parents probably heard that. I have to go now. Bye Julia." With that I get halfway down the ladder and jump. I run and jump up, swing my legs over the fence. I see Julia's light go on for a few seconds, then shut off.

I turn and run through the field, and back to my house. I see that the window is in the same position as I left it, and climb in.

I check my phone: 5:03 A.M. I take off my clothes and back into my shorts and tank.

I then climb into bed and ponder over Julia's dream. I think it's weird how both our dreams included pain and death.

I fall asleep again, hoping to stay asleep this time.
