Prologue
"Steven? Can you hear us?" there was a moist sensation upon his palm, he'd have to be a fool
to not know who's voice that was, A small croak escaping from Steven's mouth "Ame--thyst ?"
Small cries seem to have abrupted from the room, along with what seemed to be sniffles
Steven did not need to think of who was speaking to him, soft hushed voices filled
his ears like melodic music.
"Steven You've always been there for us even in the darkest of times, even after all
of the trauma and things you've gone through you held us together and it may not
have seemed like we needed you but you were the one thing we were fighting the hardest for."
Garnets voice seemed to have been on the left side of Steven.
"Ste-ven?" A small but loud and quickly cut short sob echoed through the room
followed by a small shh.. Presumably one of his friends or family.
"Steven.. You showed me that I can do things for myself, that I don't have to be bound
to one thing, I live and I love everyday now. You did that.. Steven"
Pearl placed a small kiss upon Stevens forehead, he did not need a mirror to know
he was an old timer, he may not be able to keep his eyes open long enough to see his
friends and family but he knew they were here for him.
It's going to be okay now, they're here for me. They're going to be okay, they're growing
and changing everyday in their own way loving to the fullest. Steven's thoughts interrupted another voice speaking in the same soft manner, "Your dad was so proud of you Steven" Lapis
said.
"He isn't here physically..." Peridot said choking back her tears "but he is always with you"
Amethyst placed her hand on Steven's heart, "Bismuth wanted to be in here," she spoke softly
"But she wants you to know that you were a true friend to her, you helped her grow and become a gem worthwhile in her eyes. And me.." she cut off and began again
"I finally know it's possible to love myself, and I know I can keep loving myself because you and everyone else made me
see it's possible, anything is."
A wistful hum came from Steven's gem giving him the strength to open his eyes for just a few seconds, "don't forget.. me" gazing upon the sad tearful faces of his friends and family,
speaking for the last time.
"I love you all."
